The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts—more commonly known as simply the Kennedy Center—has been a multi-dimensional facility, memorial, and cultural center since 1971. The sprawling site is divided into 3 main theaters and several smaller spaces that, together, put on nearly 2,000 performances of music, theater, and dance per year.
