Kennedy Center Opera House Ticket Information

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts—more commonly known as simply the Kennedy Center—has been a multi-dimensional facility, memorial, and cultural center since 1971. The sprawling site is divided into 3 main theaters and several smaller spaces that, together, put on nearly 2,000 performances of music, theater, and dance per year. Of these venues, the elegant Opera House is the center’s primary space for opera, ballet, and musicals, seating more than 2,300 people and boasting a distinctive red-and-gold chandelier gifted to the theater from Austria. With tickets for the Kennedy Center Opera House, you can take in a dazzling show by the New York City Ballet, get swept away by the Washington National Opera, or see one of Broadway’s award-winning hits.

Kennedy Center Opera House Events

The Kennedy Center Opera House has hosted some of the most important artistic events of the last 4 decades, including the annual Kennedy Center Honors, the nation’s highest award for achievement in the arts. Along with the star-studded gala, the Opera House has welcomed many of the most recognizable shows in the world. Throughout 2018, the venue will offer tickets to ballets such as Romeo & Juliet, operas like The Barber of Seville, performances by modern troupes like the Mark Morris Dance Group, and touring smash-hit musicals including Hamilton.
