The newest member of the Southeastern Conference brings a tradition of excellence in sports that range from equestrian to football. Texas A&M has been drawing fans and athletes to College Station for more than a century, packing venues as the Aggies face off with some of the best competition in the NCAA.
A founding member of the Southwest Conference in 1914 and the Big 12 in 1996, A&M has won more than 150 conference titles between its 9 men’s and 11 women’s teams. Aggies football has been dominating the field since the 1910s, producing legends like the 12th Man and the Junction Boys as they rock the stands of Kyle Field. The men’s and women’s basketball teams have been on the rise, with the women claiming the national title in 2011.
With dominant teams in track and field, plus sports outside the NCAA like archery and women’s equestrian, Texas A&M knows how to turn its students into champions. Whether you’re joining the crowds in Reed Arena or watching the ball game at Olsen Field, you’re in for some great plays and indomitable spirit. Gig ‘em!
