What you can expect

Start your tour at the main square of Genoa known as Piazza de Ferrari named after the famous banker and politician Raffaele De Ferrari. One of the impressive features you will notice here is the fountain apart from interesting buildings.

As you continue, you will reach the Church of Jesus, and Saints Ambrose and Andrew. Although the facade is modest, the interiors have some of the best religious art collections in town.

You will then walk by the Doge’s Palace, the construction of which dates back to the late 13th century. It now houses a museum and is a center for cultural events and art exhibits.

Admire the beautiful facade and enjoy Gothic and Romanesque architecture at the Cattedrale di San Lorenzo which is one of the most important places for Catholic worship in town. Here, you will see its Bell tower and Dome.

Continue on to see the Palazzo San Giorgio, a palace that was built in 1260 by the first Doge of Genoa. It is located in the square known as Piazza Caricamento. Here, you will see its facade which was last renovated in the 19th century.

You will then walk by Porto Antico, a waterfront area located in the heart of the city in its historic center and is home to many buildings.

Our next stop will be a Cathedral known as Basilica della Santissima Annunziata del Vastato where you will see Mannerist style architecture. Here, you will have a chance to see interiors, especially its Dome, which has been contributed by various artists.

Finish your tour at the Belvedere Castelletto which is one of the most scenic viewpoints of Genoa from which you will see the residential city buildings.
