EXR Racing Series offers arrive-and-drive racing

The series is brought to you by Exotics Racing, a longtime partner of Expedia, who brought the on-track exotic driving experiences to Las Vegas and Los Angeles—programs that allow anyone to drive supercars, such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis, on a real race track to unleash their full potential.

The new EXR Racing Series takes the same concept that has made Exotics Racing so popular to the next level. Drivers of any experience or skill level can put the pedal to the metal and tackle bends and straightaways during 1-day refresher courses, 4-day training schools, and trial, coached lapping, and racing sessions.

This is a unique opportunity to become a race car driver, no matter how much driving experience you have. Whether you’re looking for a fun and accessible motorsport activity for the weekends or an up-and-coming racer looking to develop your skills on the track, this series offers something for everyone. The new EXR Racing Series is an arrive-and-drive spec series—meaning everything a racer needs is provided. This includes high-quality equipment, full training and licensing programs, and—most importantly—the car to drive.

The vehicle itself is the EXR LV02, imported from Europe for the exclusive use of the EXR Racing Series. This lightweight, rear-wheel-drive car produces 230 horsepower from its 4-cylinder Renault engine. Proven in Europe’s MitJet Series, the car is fun to drive for rookies and a formidable challenge for experts.

The 2016 season series got underway in March at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in California and continued at Thunderhill Raceway Park in April. The rest of the season will unfold at some of the most spectacular tracks in the country. Sign up for a convenient, 1-day motorsport refresher course or a full, 4-day training school to get ready, and then try a race weekend.

Drivers who would like some more seat time before taking their first green flag can participate in one of the series’ official time-trial sessions or book some practice time with a coach for a lapping session. Drivers are invited to submit their best times for a chance to win a full scholarship for the 2017 season.

School programs take place in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, with racing and time trial sessions available at tracks across the western United States. Tracks include Circuit of the Americas in Texas, Thunderhill Raceway and Auto Club Speedway in California, and Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Nevada. Visit EXR’s site for more information on their 2016 schedule.
