What you can expect

Lion's Head is one of the most magical hikes in Cape Town, and what better way to safely explore this iconic gem than with a professional and experienced mountain guide. Outstanding views, a deeper connection to nature and incredible photography - this is what you're in for!

Take the hassle out of Ubers and planning, as your guide will come and collect you right from your front door and head to the start of the trail from there. Your nature experience starts at the base of Lions Head and initially winds its way up along an easy-to-walk jeep-track. Stunning views of Table Mountain, standing at over 1087m tall, and the mystical 12 Apostles can be had on your left as you make your way up.

The path gets progressively narrower as you ascend the mountain; going from jeep track to single track and then to more technical rock scrambling. For the more adventurous hikers you'll have the opportunity to tackle some adrenalin-inducing staples and chains bolted into the rock face. There is also an alternative walking route for those less comfortable with heights.

After a short and sweet hour and a half you'll find yourself on the summit of one of Africa's most climbed mountains! Views of the city centre below, the Atlantic Seaboard and Table Mountain abound. Your guide will take all the Insta shots to make your friends back home jealous and there will also be the opportunity to simply sit and drink in the glorious views. After which it's a quick and mostly easy descent back down to the car where your guide will drop you back off at your hotel.

This is certainly one of the most magical and iconic activities to tick off whilst in town. So come and enjoy this amazing Lion's Head experience!
