The Day trip will begin with from Fes at 9 am, the first stop will be at Dam El Shahad to marvel the view for a short break, then we continue to Volubilis the ancient Roman ruins. Spend an hour exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its remarkably well-preserved mosaics, Roman architecture, and historical significance. You can either explore the ruins independently or with a local guide to provide insights into the site's history and significance.
Then we leave Volubilis and head towards the nearby city of Meknes, known for its rich history and impressive monuments. The drive from Volubilis to Meknes takes approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival you can have lunch and rest so you have time to explore city.
Starting your exploration by visiting the monumental Bab Mansour gate, one of the most significant entrances to the city. From there, you can explore the charming Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its narrow streets, bustling markets, and historical landmarks.
Then make your way to the stunning Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, the final resting place of Sultan Moulay Ismail. Admire the intricate architectural details and learn about the fascinating history behind this grand structure. Afterwards, Explore the Royal Stables (Heri es-Souani) with its massive granaries and horse stables were constructed during the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail and provide a glimpse into the opulence of the time.
After a full day of exploration, begin your journey back to Fes. The drive from Meknes to Fes takes approximately one hour via the highway.
