The Alfama neighborhood is the oldest and most traditional in Lisbon. Starting the tour in this typical area of Lisbon, very different from all the others, will allow you to get to know this neighborhood and better understand the city's history and the way it grew.
Campo das Cebolas

At the end of the Alfama neighborhood, there is an area (Campo das Cebolas) of high historical value, the ruins of the ancient Roman port. Here you will see part of the ruins of the port and learn about the influence and importance that the Roman people had in Lisbon and Portugal several centuries ago.
Praca do Comercio (Terreiro do Paco)

This monumental and wonderful square, facing the Tagus River, which was the ancient gateway to the city of Lisbon, is currently the most important square in the city. Here we will make a stop so you can see the square, to explain why it is so important and also to explain how the devastating tsunami of 1755 happened and the social and architectural consequences.
Rossio Square

After stopping at Comércio Sqaure, we will cycle for around 10 minutes, through the streets of downtown Lisbon, until we reach another important square in Lisbon, called Rossio. Another wonderful square in our city, where the National Theater, Lisbon's first major train station and the enigmatic São Domingos Church are located. In addition to these monuments, you can also discover some of the oldest and most legendary stores here.
Praca dos Restauradores

Another few hundred meters and we will reach Praça dos Restauradores, which has the monument in the middle to remember the restoration of Portugal's independence in 1640. Here it will be explained why Portugal lost its independence for 60 years. Flanked by old cinemas and theaters, this square marks the beginning of Avenida da Liberdade, the most important in Lisbon.
Elevador de Santa Justa

The monumental Santa Justa elevator, built over 100 years ago, is one of Lisbon's best-known symbols. Here we will make a brief stop to explain the reason for its existence and the great importance it had.
Municipal Square

In this small square there is a beautiful building that is currently the headquarters of the Lisbon city council, but was the work place of the last kings of Portugal. During this stop it will be explained how the monarchical regime was replaced by a republican regime in 1910.
The Pink Street

Former cabarets gave way to very trendy bars and clubs, and today it is the most famous place for nightlife. It is true that during our tour we passed through this colorful street during the day, but it is important for many to know where it is and it is a great spot to take some photos.
Time Out Market Lisboa
