June 16, 1976, thousands of School children flooded the streets of Soweto, after Government enforced Afrikaans as a medium of instruction in subjects like Mathematics, Social Study, History, and so on. the unforeseen circumstance happened when Hundreds of Children in School uniforms were shot and killed by the police. the likes of Hector Pieterson and Hasting Ndlovu were the first boys who got killed and many more kids had to flee from home to exile or elsewhere to seek a better life. some kids just got perished without trial till today there has never been any accountability.

remember Mandela used to stay in the back room of Walter Sisulu before he got his own house so in the late forties, this was his first owned house with Winnie until he was arrested in 1963, then Winnie would take care of things while she was in and out of prison and at some point it was boomed by the police. It carries so much of the Struggle of Mandela and Winnie. After Mandela's release from Robin Island, he came and lived in this house for eleven days, with people always hanging by the road who wanted to see Mandel he had to move to much private place.
