First major national museum dedicated to the Mediterranean, Mecca of modern architecture and heritage, the Mucem is a cultural city open to the sea. Visit the building and go to the roof to admire the view and join Fort Saint-Jean with one of the footbridges.
Cathedrale de la Major

Located near the Mucem and the Panier, the Cathedral has spectacular dimensions similar to the St Peter's Basilica in Rome, and can accommodate up to 3,000 people! Built in Byzantine style, it is one of the largest churches in France. Its construction extends over 40 years, between 1852 and 1893, at the time when Marseille is the first port of France and serves as a stopover for ships from around the world.
The Panier

This is the oldest district of Marseille, and is a must for visiting the center. The Basket is appreciated to cultivate on the historical places of Marseilles, to have a drink on terrace, to stroll in the streets and to discover artisans and creators of the Basket which open their doors to you.
