"The minute I walked in I spotted the huge yellow cat meandering the floor. I panicked, I am deathly (epi shot) allergic to cats. Then we were led up the narrow stair case to our room and I nearly cried. Many weeks and seven hotels throughout Europe and this one was UGLY. Think motel 6 1970’s at 40x the cost. But. "DO NOT STAY HERE. Worst hotel experience of my life. Upon check in at the Kebab Shop (don't ask), we were taken to a neighbouring building, a building being used to house carwash workers. We were then taken through the workers living room, through scary corridors, into a dump of a room. Toilets/showers were disgusting, with used razors being left around, along with other gross toiletries. We knew this was one of the cheaper places to stay but I can't believe how bad it really was. "The hotel was in a great location to visit Amsterdam- near a metro station and also walking distance from canals and bridges. Breakfast was not a huge spread, but enough to take you through to lunch. Rooms were clean and (private) bathroom fairly modern. The stairs were extremely steep so be careful if you’re bringing large suitcases with you! Staff extremely friendly and helpful. A great place to stay and the layout downstairs makes it easy to meet other tourists."

"Hotel location is good. Shower room had damp on the walls. Previous guests had written on the walls in the bathroom. This has never been removed. One message read 'Denzo 2014'! Hotel is noisy. Condition of the hotel seems as if it hadn't been decorated for many years. We were charged before arrival. We expected to pay on arrival. No hot water in wash basin. Condition of carpet on stairs is threadbare. Bed was unstable."

"Whole property was in horrible state.. There was renovation/painting going on and the room I was supposed to stay had no ventilation so it had so much dust I got strong allergic reaction. Walls are thin like Japanese houses, sounds from toilets emanates through like you were next to the toilet seat. The corridors steep and narrow mazes and the odd joint of weed can be smelled. That place should be decommisioned. "
