2 star Pet-friendly Independent hotels in Prague, Czech Republic

Penzion Sprint is a gem. The staff are friendly and helpful, its clean and tidy. The bar/restaurant next door serves good reasonably priced food. My only problem was the walk to the tram stop which was uphill, quite steep. But thats because I'm older now and not as fit as I used to be. Transport into the city is quick, frequent and efficient and the reception staff were very helpful with routes and tickets. Overall a lovely base for a short stay in a beautiful city.

Pension Tara is in the centre of Prague, and is exactly where you want to be ie near all the main attractions like the National Opera House , the Charles bridge etc etc. wonderful. We also had a 20% discount on the restaurant downstairs, which was kind and allowed us to have a lovely breakfast there every morning.

This is a decent hostel, it is clean and comfortable depending on your taste. Beds have thin rather hard mattresses, are close together and there is not a lot of privacy. The owners tried to maximize space in some rooms by adding a loft, which is not tall enough for an adult to stand. Reception is on the third floor of the building and some staff member do speak english, others do not. They have small lockers to lock up your valuables. I was very comfortable there and prefer the rooms that have curtains around your bed for some degree of privacy. This hostel is not easy to find, it is in a courtyard behind a building with a small sign out front. Look for the rainbow flag sign for the bar in front of the hostel. If you are expecting five star service do not stay here. If you are happy with a bed, free internet and a safe place you will be fine. Travelers are mostly young and international. I am sure kids are ok, but would surely bother the other travelers if they made noise, so if you come with small children, I would consider getting a private room. I feel like I paid the least by booking online.

My wife and I stayed here 1 night this January. We loved it. We have now stayed all over Europe and this was the neatest place we stayed. The front desk guy spoke excellent English as did all the staff. The free beer or soft drink service was awesome after a day on the train. The room was big by Europe standards, and the bathroom was clean. We loved the bar in the basement, where eles can you go and drink all nightfor cheap. All in all for the cheap price we paid this was a gem we wont soon forget and would gladly go back to.

Staff was not very helpful and always seemed busier with things such as wedding prep than helping people with room things. Also, it was a bit of a distance into the center but can be managed fairly easily on the tram.

the bed nearly fell apart the curtains did not darken the room. however, it was spacious and clean. for the price it was good.
