Alderson is situated about 210 miles (338 kilometers) southwest of Washington, the national capital, and approximately 120 miles (193 kilometers) west of Charlottesville.
While it may be a temptation to limit yourself to just the local sights while vacationing in Alderson, remember, the surrounding region's numerous scenic delights lie just beyond your doorstep. White Sulphur Springs, 19 miles (31 kilometers) to the west, and Pipestem, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northeast of Alderson are also well worth checking out.
Once you've fully explored Alderson, visit the nearest regional area. Lewisburg lays 12 miles (19 kilometers) away and is home to visitor attractions such as North House Museum, West Virginia State Fair Fairgrounds and Lewisburg Elks Country Club. Lost World Caverns and Greenbrier Valley Theatre are also good places to spend some time.
