“Cant wait to go back”

We were very impressed with customer service, quick check in, very clean room, king size bed comfortable and loved their pillows. We were busy with other activities so didnt get to try out splash a torium or restaurant. I liked it being off the strip a bit, makes for a lot quieter if youre sleeping in like we did. Also had great water pressure and plenty of hot water.

“Great Kids Adventure”

Even though during winter a lot of the water park stuff isn't operating (some is outside) the slide and stuff inside kept our grandchildren busy for quite awhile. They loved it, especially the slide. The food at the breakfast buffet is as good as you'll find at Cracker Barrel, and costs less. Didn't see the show. Huge auditorium next to the restaurant. Nice place. A little barren outdoors, but Branson ain't Palm Beach, eh?

Area recommendations
Branson is a tacky town. The shows are just mediocre. Silver Dollar City is a wonderful place for children, especially at Christmas. The Welk Resort has a nice water park and is staffed with friendly and helpful employees. The breakfast buffet is worth the price. The resort is set apart from the tacky show row on Highway 76. If you like Japanese food, the Shogun up the road a couple of miles is quite good, for Branson. Haven't tried the other Shogun close to the hotel. The butterfly house over near the RFD Channel building is also a very interesting place to visit, as is the Dolly Parton Dinner Show on Highway 76 across from Dick Clark's.
When to go
Christmas is the best time to visit Branson if you're going to spend most of your time at Silver Dollar City. The tree lighting, the parade and expecially the play in the opera house are must see events. The quality of the play's sets, music and acting is well beyond what you would expect to find in Branson, and it comes with the price of admission to the park. The park is hilly but there are easy routes.
Must see
At least once, you should take a dinner cruise on the sternwheeler Branson Belle. It's a huge stern wheeler in the Mississippi River style and you cruise Table Rock Lake for a couple of hours. Don't know now, but in the past the on-board dinner was excellent and the entertainment top notch. A truly wonderful experience for a city kid. You can even go up and sit in the wheel house and talk to the captain of this big boat.

“Good Time”

We stayed one night at the hotel and had a very good time. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our kids enjoyed the swimming area very much. Would recommend for families with children.

“Not impressed”

We stayed previous and had an amazing experience. This time not so much. The room was dirty, bed coverings were not clean paid extra for the splashatrium only to find that it closed at ten as well as the amazing lodge. Holiday weekend, kids out of school, Silver Dollar City closing at 9:30 , family shows getting over at ten and we coud not go as a family to play pool, chess, or sit in front of the fireplace. The front desk was not helpful and to be honest we booked this resort to experience what we did a year ago. Not booking again.

Comment from the hotel's management
Thank you for your review of your stay with us. We know challenges arise sometimes, and while we do our best to avoid any inconveniences we are thankful you brought some of them to our attention. First, we are glad you appreciate our “Splash-A-Torium” and all of the family-friendly amenities that go with it: game-room, family room, fireplace, etc. It sounds like you know from experience what a great place it is to spend time together. Unfortunately, it sounds like your experience this time did not match your previous one. The hours for our facilities are based on providing a safe and comfortable experience for all of our guests. We are aware that many of our guests need an early night’s sleep to get up and experience all that Branson has to offer, so we have found that the majority of guests are done with those amenities by 10:00pm and are heading back to their rooms for a good night’s sleep, so we have set our hours of operation to end at 10pm when in season. We are so sorry that the hours of operation did not fit into your family’s schedule. We love for our guests to enjoy all we have to offer. More importantly, we are very concerned that you did not find our front desk associates helpful. It is our policy to provide the most gracious service with the warmest smile and most professional concern possible. If you did not experience that, please accept our apology and know that we will discuss this with our associates. We hope you will consider returning to our resort and that on that visit, you can experience all that we have to offer you and your family.

“Not Impressed”

Not up to our usual standard. I like having a mini 'fridge and a place that "trust" I won't steal the hangers - I hate those theft proof hangers. The "splash-a-torium" was little more than an indoor pool with a fancy slide and we had to cross the parking lot from the hotel to get to the pool area. Rooms were small with a tiny table and no desk. Otherwise clean and comfortable beds.

Getting around
Pick up a map of Branson and utilize the outer roads to get around. You will save yourself a lot of time sitting in traffic on 76 - "the strip".
Dining
Try Florentina's on the "yellow route" for good Italian food.
Comment from the hotel's management
Thank you for your comments. We hope you know how important we feel it is to really listen to our guests, so that we can provide the best experience possible when they stay with us. Our indoor water attraction, The Splash-A-Torium, has been a family favorite for 3 years now. Most of our guests really enjoy the slides and water toys, as well as the indoor and outdoor hot tubs, and indoor/outdoor pool. Unfortunately, cold weather will force us to close some of these features. We still maintain the indoor portion all year: our 117 ft. water slide, indoor fountain toys and indoor heated pool. We hope you can return and experience a nice, warm day in the Splash-A-Torium, when all of our “Splash” features are open and you can relax and have fun.

“Pleasant Stay”

We just got back from "Christmas in Branson" trip. This is maybe the fourth or fifth time to the Welk Resort. Good value if you can catch the right price, rates tend to fluctuate.?? If rates had been higher, we probably would have gone elsewhere. This is a family type property, and sometimes a bit noisy at night. Overall nice stay, pretty much what we expected. Staff is always pleasant, and helpful. Would rather not have to deal with sales pitch pressure from time share attendant when trying to buy tickets for shows at hotel.

“Fun for Kids”

The hotel is nice enough. It is definitely not the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, but we were mainly staying for the use of the swimming pool. My kids had a blast in the pool and hot tub, so we were very satisfied with that. The hotel room was very small and a little outdated, but probably what we would expect to get for the cost. I would stay here again if I had my children along for the trip, but if I were vacationing with adults, I would probably choose another hotel.

“Bransons Best”

We stayed one nite in a regular room which was wonderful then we moved to one of the lodges for our next nite. The lodge was the nicest place we have ever stayed, very comfortable and cozy, fireplaces, hottub. We loved it and would be happy to tell the world.

“Nice Stay, too far from main attractions"”

Hotel was average maybe a little above however our room smelled so strong of potpourri that it was overbearing as if it were covering up a bad smell. The bathroom floor could have been cleaner than it was but overall the beds were very comfortable and clean and was definitely better than a motel 6. Loved the breakfast buffet! Dinner was way too pricey so we chose to go elsewhere. Staff was friendly and the kids loved the splashatorium. Would like to go there another time in the summer since they have so many scheduled activities for kids and would love it even more if it were closer to all of the main attractions.

Comment from the hotel's management
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We strive to provide an experience worth repeating for our guests. Just wanted to apologize if our staff did not provide you with directions to all of the great things there are to do in town. We are “faster” to a lot of area attractions, due to the fact that we are not on the “Strip” and are located at the intersection of many area back roads. Many of our guests have appreciated the quiet, natural surroundings, and the fact that so much of the town is accessible without having to drive on the main roads. When you return, please ask any of our associates for directions. You’ll see how easy it is to get around, but also you’ll be able to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Ozarks.
