    When to Go

Missouri doesn’t have an off-season; it offers a great escape at any time of the year. Autumn is a great choice for romantic getaways. Take a stroll with your special someone and search the woods for red maple leaves and purple dogwoods, and then curl up and build a fire against the slight chill. Winters tend to be mild, but a snowfall might set the mood for holiday celebrations. Spend an afternoon ice skating at one of the many indoor or outdoor rinks, or plan a ski vacation. Spring brings redbuds, wildflowers, and some great deals. Check out Expedia.com for cheap flights to Missouri and deals on Missouri hotels. Of course, summer is always a great time to visit. The long, hot days are perfect for tubing on the Current River or boating on the state's many reservoirs.

    What to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts come for the fishing and caving opportunities or just to spend a lazy day on the river. Families love the waterparks, theme parks, and state parks. Two state parks, Bennett Springs and Roaring River, offer excellent trout fishing. Elephant Rocks State Park is a favorite escape from St. Louis. Even some adults can't resist climbing the giant, elephant-shaped boulders.

If your tastes are more on the cosmopolitan side, check out the cities for art museums, playhouses, and premium shopping. Forest Park in St. Louis offers a host of free activities, from a world-class zoo to a state-of-the-art science center. Nearby, you will find The Hill, an iconic Italian neighborhood with shotgun houses and delicious restaurants and bakeries. Families love the City Museum, a 600,000-square foot indoor playground where kids can crawl through caves and climb into cockpits.

Don't forget about Branson, the ultimate family getaway. It combines all the best that Missouri has to offer: history, water sports, museums, and music. The lodgings all have that small-town Ozark charm that can only be found at hotels in Branson. Bring the kids to experience the olden days at Silver Dollar City, or leave them at home for a relaxing vacation at Table Rock Lake.

    Where to Stay

Missouri hotels provide friendly service at an affordable rate while Missouri resorts offer golf courses, swimming pools, and on-site restaurants and shopping. Most hotels in Missouri have Wi-Fi and a business center. Many include fitness centers or spas where you can relax after a great time with the family. Most resorts offer pools, and some even have an entire water park on-site. Expedia.com can help you find the perfect Missouri hotel for your vacation.

    Regions in Missouri

The different regions in Missouri offer very distinct experiences for travelers. The Bootheel area in Southeast Missouri feels like the Old South. Cotton fields stretch to the horizon, and southern culture permeates the small towns. The Mississippi River dominates the area, often flooding its banks to renew the rich soil. To the southwest, you will find the Ozark Mountains, one of the oldest mountain ranges in North America. Time and weather have worn the mountains down to hills, creating stunning bluffs and valleys in the process. The Northwest region flattens out as you enter the vast fields and plains that stretch all the way to the Rocky Mountains. This is the beginning of the Heartland, that vast and fertile area known as America's Breadbasket. With its central location and great variety, you just can’t miss with Missouri, so visit Expedia.com to book your trip today.

"close to downtown and walking distance."
The people were very nice and it was clean. I wish for the price of the room we could have had a free breakfast , like other hotels do. And we did like having the parking near by , but the price I thought was a bit high at 15.00 a day. We did enjoy our stay.

    "Nice for a weekend getaway!"
Purchased a 3.5 star hotel through Expedia's mystery hotel at a great price. Once purchased, found out it was Westgate Branson. Read many negative reviews, so wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Yes it is a timeshare place, but we received our room before going to pick up our "welcome pack". The man at the timeshare counter was nice and not pushy and all it took was a nice "no thank you", and we were off to our room. We were placed in 2711B which was a villa close to the entrance. It was clean had a king size bed, mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, small kitchen table, and a place setting for two. It also had a blow dryer and iron and ironing board. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, and soap was also provided. There is no cleaning service, but if you need clean towels all you had to do was call. Yes, you had to make your own be too, but really, that was not a problem. Decor was a little outdated, but for the price, location, and the cleanliness, it was well worth it. We will definitely go back.

Outside of the hotel was very nice. However, rooms were very dated. Doors inside room did not close correctly. Kids loved the bunkbeds.the price was not bad though. The water park was great. Kids spent hours there and the lifeguards were wonderful.

I loved the modern finishes in this hotel. I was staying at another hotel near The Plaza for a portion of this trip, but preferred the stylings and finishings of the AC Marriott. I was VERY impressed when I walked in the door of the lobby. Everything in the hotel is sleek and polished. We did encounter one problem with the hotel but it was fixed quickly: The batteries in our thermostat went out at night. When we got back late-night the room was very warm. We called in the morning and by the time we came back to the hotel the AC was fixed.

"It's nice and located close to the train station."
We had 2 grandchildren, ages 4 and 8, traveling with us for a short "vacation". During an early evening swimming time, we are concerned about the over indulgence of drinks by guests. (Cases were delivered through the hotel). This was a time there were many families wanting to take advantage of the pool area, but unfortunately had to leave because of a small group of supposedly adult guests. At 3, we had a call from the front desk that our pizza had arrived, unfortunately, we were all pretty sound asleep at the time. Our room, 2401 was next to the elevators, which causes a constant sound through the night as elevators went up and down.
