Nice hotel near the mountain

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: Proximity to Killington.
Cons: Needs updating, coming soon.
Location: Great skiing nearby; the major reason to go. Right on the access road, very close to all the restaurants, shops and bars.
Room was clean and comfortable. Adequate hot breakfast, nothing fancy but good. Ice machine was not working, but desk staff brought me a fresh bucket of ice from the kitchen. Nice pool and hot tub. Very close to the skiing at Killington (less than 5 minute drive). A bit dated, but about to undergo a major renovation. Enjoyed my stay.

Convenient Value - Adequate

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: The Pool & hot-tub, Apre ski cookies and coco were a hit with our daughter. The Vermont Apples in the lobby. Fireplace lounge.
Cons: Needs lots of updating and renovation needed in public spaces and in hotel room we had.
Location: We got great recommendations for local restaurants and shopping. We did ski and did the Snow Mobile tours one day and that was a fantastic experience
Very close to the Mtn with great views. Needs lots of updating in public spaces and in hotel room we had. Very Clean though. Breakfast and shuttle are great. Staff works very hard and is guest focused. I would recommend the hotel but with caveat about expectations relative to value for the dollar.

Pros: Nice place and proximate to the Snowshed, Rams Head and K-1 base lodges.
Cons: Outdoor hot tub did not have jets working; no fires in second floor lounge fireplace.
Location: Easy walk to plenty of bars and restaurants.

As Advertised

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: large room, pool, fitness area, large corridors
Cons: Lobby needs renovation and cleaning.
Location: Location was about 5 minutes from the K1 Lodge at Killington Ski Area, several restaurants available with multiple food choices.
The Hotel was located very close to the slopes with a shuttle to and from the them. Our first room didn't have heat and the staff quickly moved us to another room, helping us move our gear. The hotel served a hot breakfast which was okay, nothing fancy, eggs, bacon, pancakes. The hotel did have a fitness room which was not noted in the amenities package so that was a nice surprise. The pool is a lap pool was great since we are swimmers. The room was large which was good with all our ski gear, and there is an outdoor locker room for skis. Very quite. If you build a large fire place, 8' by 8' don't build a 2' wide fire in it, it just looks silly!

First time in Killington.

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Location.
Cons: Clean and repair the filthy outdoor hot tub. Clean up the trash/bottles/cans/etc left daily in the common areas. Stoke a bigger fire. Microwaves.
Location: Killington gets the press, but don't miss out on Poco. Party at Moguls. Eat at The Foundry & Garlic.
Picked what appeared to be one of the nicest hotels in the area, convenient to Killington and Pico. Hotel was decent. Had a bottle of Jagermeister go missing from hotel room.

Great breakfast but broken faucet

Posted Feb 23, 2015
I stayed one night, the room was ok, nothing fancy, I would expect more for the price. The faucet in the bathroom was broken. Breakfast and hot tub was the best.

Hotel is a wreck. Charges obscene price.

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Foul smell in hallways. Ice machines don't work. Heat doesn't work. Water leaks in the ceilings. Breakfast area had sections roped off because of collapsed ceilings. All tables were filthy. Catchup. Syrup. Crumbs. Spilled food everywhere. Piles of empty pizza boxes in all the common areas that were left nearly half the days from drunken, loud college age people. People screaming in the halls at 3am. Hungover kids bragging publically about fights they were in the night before. Not really what I want my 9 year old girl listening to at the breakfast table. Shower water turned completely off mid shower. Heat in rooms didn't work. Pool was filthy. For the money charged, it was almost criminal. Seems as if no money was put into upkeep and maintenance of the hotel since the 1960s.

Great Location

Posted Feb 3, 2015
Pros: Location and the size of the place, Great main lobby fireplace.
Cons: Room carpets, drapes and furniture need upgrading.
We have stayed here several times over many years and really like the location. This place could be a 4 or 5 star hotel if the owners would just put money in upgrades. Our room was clean but the wear on some items was clearly showing. Take my advise owners, you could have one of the nicest places to stay in Killington if you just spend some money.
