Hospitable staff, great location

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: We loved the morning Temple Walk, a two hour walking tour that the hotel staff hosts, what a great offering.
Cons: The downside is that the rooms were definitely small, but we didn't spend much time in them anyway.
Location: The hotel is a peaceful oasis in downtown Chiang Mai, with easy access to all of the restaurants, bars and shopping.
The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds are well kept and reflect the peace and beauty you hope to see in Chiang Mai

Returnable Timeless Hidden Village within City Cen

Posted Dec 23, 2014
Pros: Everything, but I will go on the record to say that this is the best spa treatments I have every had anywhere.
Cons: Nothing. Although I think the hotel roof needs jet washing to make it look nicer, but that's cosmetic.
Location: Literally on the same block as the center crossroads of town. Excellent location.
As I rode in the back of the taxi, a modern Toyota Highlander, I was armed with CoPilot GPS navigation ensuring my driver was taking the efficient route (he was) the distance counted down "in 300m you destination is on the right" said the sweet feminine English accent. Then like a typical man I got distracted by a squirrel, wow, cool resturants and people, it's busy here, "In 100 meters your destination is on the right". Panic sets in as my brain goes into fear thought of 'Oh no, it's a con, the photos are real. Again' Already'. Then as the taxi turns right a long driveway with 10-15m (35-50ft) bamboo arching down each sides revivals a timeless rooftop. "phew". The village is exactly that, a village. It's timeless. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. The rooms clean, medium size, the higher end rooms offer a window and balcony, the lower class rooms seemed same size but no opening door balcony. My only discomfort are the beds are hard. All beds in Thailand are hard. I sleep on my stomach and don't have a 6 pack so often woke up in the night with a soar belly. No spinal curverture adjustment here. Buts that's the only down side. The pool is nice, the food exceptional and you will have to eat somewhere else to compair it to, to establish this. I've eaten enough good, bad and middle of the road Thai food to know that this is very good traditional food. I had booked several spa treatments in advance. NOTE: 20% discount for advance spa bookings before you arrive.

Pros:

The most friendly staff I have ever encountered at

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Restaurant should stay open until posted hours ( it closed early several nights).
Location: Street food tours, night market, shopping
The grounds make you feel very private and secluded and It is an oasis of calm amongst the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. It is obvious that the staff (especially Lily and Pearl) love what they do and take excellent care of travelers and the hotel itself. Take the 1.5 hour tour of the old temples (wear sandals as you need to remove your shoes several times to enter temples). Rooms are simple and spacious ( we had the Lanna Deluxe). The spa is excellent so book your treatments in advance. The included breakfast is excellent and more than you expect.
