If your desperate for a bed

Posted Aug 25, 2014
We would only go back If everything is booked out. Room is stuck in the 1980's and could do with an update, while the room was clean it stunk of smoke and you had to run around the shower to get wet. Air conditioner smelt when it was turned on, fortunately it was cool at night. Don't worry about the continental breakfast, better going to Starbucks. I do have to remind myself it was a budget $70 stay.

Not worth the discounted price!

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Close to CSU Chico campus. That was the only perk. The front door would stick, the bathroom door was 1/2 shattered and did not close, the sheets had holes in them. The general appearance of the room was dirty with stains on the floor. A dirty place, and I felt uncomfortable with my kids there. The hotel staff were nice, but overall the hotel needed major repairs and upgrades. Even with the discounted price, the room rates listed on the door were cheaper. I would not recommend this hotel!

The hotel was a dump

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Pleasant staff and close to campus
Cons: The hotel needs a major overhaul
Location: About 3 blocks from the CSU Chico campus
The only thing I could say positive about this hotel was it proximity to the Chico campus. Oh, and the staff was pleasant. Otherwise, the place was really decrepit. Just.... old, with dingy bedding, carpets, bathroom. I would never stay there again.

For the Price - Two thumbs up!

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Price, location
Cons: The pool was dirty
Location: We were near a lot of little shops and walked just a few blocks to an area to go out to dinner
This is one of the cheaper hotels in Chico especially close to downtown Chico. We walked down town and went out two nights and for the price I would say it is great. We didnt hang out out in the hotel too much so if this is something you plan to do it may not be the place to stay. The guy at the front wasnt super talkative and the pool wasn't cleaned until we were checking out, but those were the only down sides.

The mattress was terrible. Everytime I sat on it, the mattress would lift up into the air.

Hot and horrible.

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: I did not enjoy my stay at the Vagabond Inn. It was close to down town Chico which was nice.
Cons: n/a
The room had a cooler but it did not cool the room, we had to borrow a small fan from the office. The room was still very hot and uncomfortable. When we went to go swimming there was a large flour tortilla taco at the bottom of the pool. The pool also had a lot of cigarettes and bugs in it, not a great swimming situation. The staff came out and attempted to clean the pool while we were in it and he was very nice.
