California is very much a land of contrasts with varied geography that runs the gamut from parched, sunbaked deserts in the south to temperate, misty forests and snow-capped mountain ranges in the north. The state is home to portions of the beautiful Sierra Nevada and Cascade Ranges, including the towering spire of Mount Whitney, which stands as the tallest peak in the Lower 48. The Coast Ranges, famed for the towering coast redwoods that thrive in the mountainous terrain, run along the western portion of the state. Between the mountain ranges, the Central Valley is home to both bucolic farmlands and inland cities such as Sacramento. Bordering the Pacific Ocean, the western coast of California is world-renowned for its unique terrain and stunning vistas. With so many different climates and environments, there truly are resorts in California for just about everyone. Let help you find the perfect fit for your West Coast escape.

"Moderately Upscale Hotel Near Union Square "
Built in the 1980s, this well-kept, efficiently run hotel is adjacent to much of the heart of San Francisco: dining, shopping, theaters, and urban transit. While the lobby areas are immaculate and bright, I noticed that some of the furnishings in the rooms show signs of wear--furniture that should be replaced, for example. The members of the staff gave quick and helpful service, and it has a secure feeling in spite of the gritty urban surroundings. I have stayed here before and enjoy returning.

"Central location close to Union sqaure"
Nice hotel conveniently located in downtown San Fran. A stone's throw to all the major shopping labels. Close to public transport. Overall, a pleasant hotel but downsides are the mandatory "resort fee" ($25 per night) which you have to pay even if you don't want to avail of the facilities such as internet, gym etc. We ended up paying $100 for 4 nights for facilities we essentially didn't need. We were also placed in a room at the corner hence views were not great but it was quieter at night.

Beautiful First class hotel located in a safe environment adjacent to sea port village. Several bars and restaurants are accessible in the immediate area as well as in the facility itself. The lobby is quite spectacular and worthy of a double take. Transportation is abundant in the area, there is the metro trains, taxi cabs and pedicabs. I would recommend staying at this hotel for any occasion.
