    Geography

California is very much a land of contrasts with varied geography that runs the gamut from parched, sunbaked deserts in the south to temperate, misty forests and snow-capped mountain ranges in the north. The state is home to portions of the beautiful Sierra Nevada and Cascade Ranges, including the towering spire of Mount Whitney, which stands as the tallest peak in the Lower 48. The Coast Ranges, famed for the towering coast redwoods that thrive in the mountainous terrain, run along the western portion of the state. Between the mountain ranges, the Central Valley is home to both bucolic farmlands and inland cities such as Sacramento. Bordering the Pacific Ocean, the western coast of California is world-renowned for its unique terrain and stunning vistas. With so many different climates and environments, there truly are resorts in California for just about everyone. Let Expedia.com help you find the perfect fit for your West Coast escape.

"Walking distance from Southwest terminal at LAX"
Excellent. I was stranded at the airport and walking into this hotel was like finding an oasis in the desert. The staff was immediately welcoming and the check in process was very simple. Room was amazing and the bed super comfy. Great choice of TV channels. Fantastic view of the entrance to LAX and planes landing. Room service super fast and I had a delicious eggs benedict breakfast served with fresh OJ and a flower in a vase. Everyone I dealt with was super polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

"Zero VIP PLUS benefits. Zero upgrades."
Overall nice place. But expensive for what it is (standart room price with tax was about USD 400). Plus resort fee! Pluses: Beautifull grounds - garden, small pools, beach. Large rooms each with own patio. You can leave your car next to your bungallow. Minuses: Rooms are old and used. No VIP benefits or upgrades (they did not seem to know they are part of the program?!) Expenssive - the bungallows are more like a very nice motel style and they charge USD 400!

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel very much. Food was good. Fitness room helpful. Rooms were clean and functioned very well. $27 a night for wifi charges and use of the gym is a bit steep to NOT have a continental breakfast buffet.
