5 star Corfu 3 star EnglishPosted Oct 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
Although the stay was pleasant enough, I think it matched a 3 star in England. We paid top money, I went with my partner and found we had 2 single beds joined together (guess I should read the small print). Being English we like tea and coffee facilities in the room, there were none. Took us 2 hours to organise milk and stuff and the kettle they brought up did not work. Hardly any power points in the room. Round the pool there were no waiters, had to ask at the bar each day then one brings the drinks. Lots of smokers outside for morning breakfast but you can't blame the hotel for that. So yes, an Ok stay but we expected a little more.

Great View!!Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: Very clean, wonderfully quiet. The pool area was well tended and really relaxing to be around. No people jumping in and making a noise.
Cons: Past reports have commented on the bathrooms. However they are large, fully stocked and very clean. The decor is slighted dated, but absolutely fine
Location: Great location overlooking the sea and the old fort. Short walk to the centre of town and all the great restaurants and bars.
This is a very nice hotel. The people on the check in were very helpful and efficient at all times. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive and all very fresh. My wife's birthday fell whilst we were staying, and a beautiful bouquet of flowers was delivered with the compliments of the staff. This was a lovely touch.

Very pleasant and comfortable hotelPosted Sep 20, 2014
This is probably the only decent Hotel of this size in the centre of Corfu Town. It is bright and cheerful with fabulous gardens and friendly staff. The rooms are large , have a wonderful sea view and have balconies or patios if you are on the first floor. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Large outdoor and small indoor pool in the Spa. The hotel is luxurious in an old fashioned way but could be fabulous if serious modernisation was considered. My advice - chuck out the chintz. But having said that a thoroughly enjoyable stay with all the amenities we could want. We ate out in town most nights but menu for dinner looked varied and interesting with Barbecue nights and candlelit dinners arranged during the week. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the centre of Corfu Town. Thank you to all the staff for a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

Best Hotel on CorfuPosted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Rooms and facilities are very good Food is excellent
Cons: A little tired in places, could do with a minor refurb. Including the Whirlpool and sauna use for Residents would be good.
Location: Corfu old town is good for an amble around the shops, cafes and restaurants Both the old and new fortresses are worth a visit.
This is a 4 1/2 star hotel, not quite making it into the top grade as it is a little tired. However, it also does not charge premium prices so on value for money it is excellent. However, the facilities, location and staff are all great and the food and drinks are excellent. Rooms with a sea view are well worth it with a view over the Bay. The 'old town' with it's shops, restaurants and cafes is close by but far enough away for the Hotel to be quiet at night. One warning - be careful about using the inside pool room. The pool itself is free and very nice but everything else is chargeable, which you won't find out until after you have used the Whirlpool or sauna and they want 15 euros!

Good position to walk to Corfu town attractionsPosted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was the best I have ever had and I have stayed at some posh USA hotels. None can compare with the standard of what is on offer and the views
Cons: Minor gripe: only one roll of quite basic toilet paper - I have really had to think hard to find something to say here.
Location: A really great location: close to town but overlooking a bay without cruise ships in. Near to the airport but no noise from it. Lots to do locally.
We wanted somewhere we could relax, meaning no hire car for me and we can walk to all the local attractions and take the bus (i.e. coach) from the main town to the beaches. Corfu town does not have any beaches itself, but there is a good bus service to ones around the island: look for the Green Bus service - which leaves from near the port. We took the Blue bus service to the Achillion Palace (a must see on Corfu) and used the cafe opposite the Achillion Palace to eat and drink before catching our Blue bus back to Corfu when we wanted it (and not on a tour itinerary). It took me two days to work out the route through the old town, full of little shops - a perfect experience once I had found my bearings. Google maps was not much help (which is unusual), the best advice is to look out for the Old Fort and the New Fort. All this was within easy walking distance of the hotel - just what we wanted.

Nice hotel, great locationPosted Sep 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location was excellent, minutes from Corfu town. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. Wouldn't rate it as a 4 star in American standards be not too modern, however it was clean, well attended and a good staff. I felt very comfortable and safe. The breakfast was good, standard European choices. Thoma Pappa provided excellent service. The Greek BBQ / dance show was fun and the food was great. So many choices to pick from. Just note, drinks not included and are very expensive.

Nice hotel close to town.Posted Aug 27, 2014
Spent a week in this hotel. The staff are very helpful and caring. Bedrooms/bathroom need to be refurbished. Too expensive for food and drink, even though paid half and food choice was limited.
