Oslo - Southern Norway Hotels

Really central for sightseeing / great access to the tram/bus network. Fantastic views across the city. Unbelievable breakfast buffet - sets you up for the whole day.

Oslo Radisson Blu - "Blu" can be easily reached from Goteborg Sweden, via the cost effective bus station, just across the street from the Goteborg, Sweden Radisson. If you are staying at the Goteborg Radisson, the front desk will make the reservation for your Oslo Radisson Blu, which is within walking distance from the Oslo Bus station. Our Oslo Radisson Blu room had a breathtaking view of the sea and the Oslo Olympic ski slope. "Blu" is well located. The local tram is a very short distance away, which allows you access to the entire city of Oslo. After your visit to the beautiful Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park, hop the next tram and eat at St. Lars - fabulous, but watch those menus, they are flammable! Not to worry, said the waiter to my husband, "that happens all the time." Beautiful city. Easy access. Great help at the Oslo Information Center within walking distance from the "Blu", re: fjord packages, but leave immediately if the Center becomes busy and over crowded. Thieves are astute of distracted travelers in crowded areas and will steal right out of your back pack, still zipped and on you back. The Oslo Police will take your report for insurance purpose but inform you that you will most likely not get your item returned. The police will confirm that the thief is not a local, but most likely Nigerian, as our thief was. All in all, we will return to Oslo and to the Radisson Blu.

Stayed their for two days of sightseeing and three days of business. The hotel is right on the central square of Oslo. Please note that the hotel is at the same location as a theater. It has a really small sign for the hotel, so it was helpful that the taxi driver knew where to go. (Cost of taxi ride from Oslo airport was over $200.) The hotel is at wonderful location as a base for sightseeing. Breakfast was consistently delicious. First room was fine except it was above a discoteque. Moved to second room that was somewhat narrow. Overall, it was a great value of $150 / day average rate for my trip.

When we first arrived we were given a room with two beds. We had reserved a room with 4 beds although there were only 3 of us. None of the 4 bed rooms were ready so we were given a business class room that had two beds and a roll-away bed. At first we did not like it but it was bigger than the room we would have gotten. The staff did everything they could to make us comfortable and were very helpful everytime we had a question. They were always pleasant. The rooms were very clean and they cleaned the rooms everyday. The bathroom was clean and the floors were heated, which also heated the bathroom. Very nice. The free breakfast buffet was amazing. Our first day at the breakfast was a Sunday so we were surprised to see the huge free buffet every morning. The food was always fresh and good. The hotel was in City Centre and two blocks from the walking street through the shopping area and restaurant area. The food in the hotel restaurant was very good and the staff was very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and relatives.

This was a great place to stay because of the big room size, the central location and the yummy breakfast buffet.

It was a very nice hotle for the price. The breakfast was very good with many hot and cold options. Eggs, bacon, deli meats and cheeses, along wih cereals, breads and yoguarts. I has very pleased with the accomodations and would stay there again.

This hotel stay was a great experience. the clerk was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful.

Staff seemed distant and not very friendly. We arrived in the afternoon, was given our keys and directions to the room and that was it. On check out, same feeling, not very customer friendly, but maybe it was due to the language barrier...who knows. We stayed over a Friday night, got back to the room, which was facing the church and main road/walk, pretty rowdy crowd out at 1am, Rooms were drab and nothing special, just the basic room to sleep in, nothing else.
