"I picked Azure Del Mar based on reviews, and once back home wanted to confirm that they were right...it is a special place! I am generally an independent traveler who prefers a bit of the off the beaten path. I needed somewhere that I could relax and restore and this was the perfect place for that. The staff are excellent and provide a very personal touch. I was a solo traveler and felt welcomed and safe. The cabanas are unique and comfortable. There is a lovely breeze and you can hear the waves from bed. I was there the first week of May and it was not crowded, in fact, I often had the beach all to myself and felt like I was on my own private island swinging in my hammock. The restaurant is good, but you can also walk to a bakery, small market, or other places to eat. I wondered about staying farther out from Placencia, but have no regrets about my decision. Azure del Mar is an amazing place and I highly recommend staying there."

"Very nice greeting upon checkin and property was clean and well maintained. Parking lot accessible only by walking on beach path. Pool was small but refreshing and we had breakfast at the bistro and the food was good. Room had a balcony overlooking the ocean and the sounds of the waves was great in the evening. 15-20 min drive to the town but there are several restaurants and convenience stores close by. Overall, would definitely stay again. "

"The location within Placencia Village is perfect. The resort is on a beautiful beach and our ocean front room had a great view. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The security guard made us feel very comfortable. "

"Our first time back in Belize in 18 years . Umaya was the perfect place. The views over the lagoon towards the Maya mountains are perfect backdrop after a day at the beach and pool. The staff were great, very helpful with booking trips etc. The restaurant is excellent and the wood burning Pizzeria provides a great alternative. We will be back "

The Placencia offers transportation in town and arranges pick up for fun stuff to do as well.i will definitely stay there again! The locals are great people! Super friendly and accommodating! "We loved the eco friendly concept, and the resort and staff were wonderful. The food at the Rhum Shack was exceptionally good, and our compliments to the chefs. Our room was upgraded due to a birthday, which was appreciated. The beach was fantastic as were the pools. Andrew was the Concierge, and our tour guide on a full day tour to the ruins and cave diving. He was excellent, knowledgeable, and very professional! We enjoyed the tours so much thanks to him."
