Edinburgh, Scotland Hotel Rooms at the Independent

the bus station is at the door of th hotel. very near by princess st. 5 min walk to Hay Market-train station. it is just briliiant hotel.

I can't fault the hotel, the staff, the bar, the food or the price. Staff were young but knowledgable. Food was simple but delicious. The bar had inventive twists on drinks (Negronis with port replacing Martini Rosso? A hot chocolate with Remy Martin?) If you're looking for a hotel that is bang in the centre of Edinburgh, look elsewhere. This is in the beautiful area of Stockbridge, 20min walk or 5 min bus ride from Princes St. We'll stay here again. Loved it.

Only thing I would say that was disappointing was having to find the place where keys were to be collected from luckily we got a taxi there and to our apartment otherwise we would never of found it!

Very friendly owner. Clean and comfortly. Best breakfast every morning. Like your home.

Maria is the BEST! So helpful and she really went out of her way to help make our stay great even from the beginning room inquiry and booking! I highly reccomend staying at this wonderful place. My thanks to Maria for all of her help!

I stayed with my mum and sister for a girls weekend in the City. A great location 5 mins walk to the bottom of princes street. A gorgeous period property which had wonderful design and style. Very comfortable and the owner was so helpful and accomodating. Lovely touches like providing milk for tea and washing up liquid in the kitchen. Under floor heating in the bathroom was brilliant. Would definately stay there again. We stayed in the Eton suite.

I have to say, overall is a GREAT hotel. I was a little worried about carrying luggage with all the stairs you have to take in order to get to the hotel, but luckily there weren't that many!! As soon as we got to the reception, we were greeted by the staff and they explained we had been upgraded to a larger apartment. The new apartment was so nice, had great amenities, lovely decoration and even had a balcony! We loved the location and everything was pretty close by. The staff was really helpful and friendly and we even got a 20% discount at the Italian restaurant next door for staying at Old Town Chambers.

We were greeted and shown to our room by extremely helpful staff who helped us throughout our stay. Everything about this apartment was wonderful. We'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!

Breakfasts were particularly special . The hotel my wife says is eye candy. A wonderful retreat in a special city
