Relaxed family friendly environment!Posted May 3, 2015
Pros: EVERYTHING - especially the spa treatments in the open beach front room.
Cons: Variety of menu.
Location: Great shopping in Sigatoka (20 mins), 5 star dining at The Outrigger (10 mins) and golf at The Shangri-La (35 mins).
This was our second stay at the Hideaway and were once again not disappointed. The relaxed, family friendly atmosphere really reflects the Fijian way of life, with staff always greeting you with a friendly "bula"! During the day there is lots to keep you busy including kayaking, snorkelling, pool activities, cocktail tasting - the list goes on! My kids (2 & 5) loved kids club, which included an evening session from 6-8.30pm, allowing us to enjoy happy hour drinks and entertainment in the bar, followed by dinner in the restaurant. After dinner each night all guests are treated to performances from local village groups - which was great for all the family. This is only a small resort, however this creates a very social atmosphere among all guests. Bures are very spacious and can easily accommodate 4 people. The Frangipani bures have great indoor/outdoor bathrooms, with a large bath which is great for the kids. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are beautiful - would highly recommend!

worth the drivePosted May 1, 2015
Pros: Nothing was a problem, the gardens were beautiful, it was simple and all you needed. The beach was so beautiful. Great breakfast!!
Location: The resort was 1 1/2 hrs from Nandi airport. Taxis are the way to go. Went to kula Eco park, shopping in Sigatoka and a local village souveneir shop.
First time in Fiji, resort was a bit of a drive from the air port 1hr 30 mins. Well worth it, we had a fantastic holiday, barely left the resort, everything was taken care of. Kids had a ball. Great facilities, great staff, beautiful resort, right on the coast, snorkelling on your doorstep. Don't think it gets much better. I would definitely recommend it. Great family holiday.

Wonderful location to relax & unwind.Posted Apr 19, 2015
I had no preconceived ideas about this resort prior to my stay. On arrival I was met with a warm BULA greeting & immediately felt like I had been reacquainted with old friends. The staff & atmosphere in general is what drives this place, they are happy to please & help you in any way they can. The resort itself is set amongst well kept gardens, there are many hammocks & areas to just stop & soak up the ocean views & it also has a Spa onsite with services available to guests. I stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View Bure & was very pleased with the location, facilities & general standard of my room. Overall, some of the facilities are a little tired looking but if you're after a great all rounder that is also family friendly, then this is the place to stay.

Good Value HotelPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: The gardens were well maintained.
Cons: The mini golf course needs to be seen to be believed. Quite a challenge!
Location: The location is great.
I stayed at the Hideaway with my family (2A & 2 teens) and another family (2A & 3 teens) and for us this was a great spot. Ths adults stayed in the beach front villas while the kids were in rooms behind (maybe beach view?) We used the place as a base and did the white water rafting (a MUST) and visited other local restaurants (Eco also a must). The pool area is a bit dated but the kids loved the ping pong table. The place reminded me of a 1960's holiday resort (or the "love boat?") with the activities... It was fun though. If you want a base and look around Fiji this is perfect. If you want a resort - go somewhere else...

Charming back to the 80s retreatPosted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Views from the villas Great snorkelling at high tide Free Kids Lunch and Dinner buffet before the main dinner hours
Cons: Send reception staff on training course, teach them how to behave in a hospitality business and live the Bula Way
Location: On the Coral Coast - be aware tides mean that there is no water to swim half day - villages and a town nearby
Wonderful little bungalows on the beach Stayed in both the deluxe beachfront room, which was modern but small and the larger Beachfront Villa, which was a little more dated but spacious with the most amazing view ever. It made us feel like we were the only guests and owned the place. Wonderful !! However, the general pool area and restaurant was straight from the 80s - felt like Spain all inclusive 1982. Fiji is famous for its friendly staff - BULA being the word, and Fiji time the attitude. Not here, staff seem to be more engaged with themselves than the guest but most importantly the reception staff were the rudest and most unhelpful ever. Also Cocktails are way to expensive for the standard of the hotel (FJ$22 toFJ$28) basically the price of a main course at the restaurant.
