What a great place. It's nice to take a "step back" vs. a full service large scale resort. However it's not a step back in amenities. Ice cold air conditioning in the clean units with appliances in the kitchen. We will definitely go back here again!

The only problem was in the Building 2- Hotel the one elevator was on the fritz for the whole time. It would work at times but mostly did not work properly. Once you got on, the doors would not close and you would have to get off and try to catch the other elevator. Also our remote to the TV was not working properly, possibly needed batteries?

My boyfriend and I booked 2 nights at the Beach Shell Inn to attend a wedding. When we arrived, the owner, Cheryl, offered to bring us a coffee pot for our room and beach towels. She immediately brought over a large coffee pot with enough coffee to comfortably last us the entire stay (and we are serious coffee-drinkers!). The beach towels she gave us were mis-matched, REAL beach towels- not those dinky hotel towels you find at most places- and they were the nicest, thickest towels I've seen in a long time! The beach access couldn’t be better- it was gorgeous, private & quiet.
The exterior of the Inn didn’t look like much because they were in the process of upgrading the fencing and the landscaping wasn’t in yet, but the pool was nice. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Cheryl was great and even went out of her way to come out of the office to tell us how nice we looked when we were leaving for the wedding. Our stay was fantastic! It was almost like staying with family. My boyfriend even insisted we take a picture with Cheryl before we left! :-) We will definitely be back the Beach Shell Inn- hopefully soon!

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in November 2014, and had an excellent experience. All the staff we encountered, from the desk staff to the housekeepers, were friendly and helpful. It is an older property on the beach, and we used all the amenities on offer: lounge chairs, pool, hot tub, breakfast, kitchenette, laundry, and bikes. We would not hesitate to stay here again on another visit.
