Beautiful luxury hotel.Posted Feb 19, 2014
Fabulous accommodation with wonderful pool and beach. Food and drink $$$$$, but very good. Desk/ Restaurant service was good. Service at the beach was poor. Some days we spent 5 hours on the beach and the waiter only came by once. The Skybar has a beautiful view but we were the only people there. A little too quiet for us.

Very few rooms, attentive staffPosted Jan 3, 2014
Pros: - Bed linens and bed very comfortable - Privacy a plus in room and on balcony - Restaruant area is lovely amazing view - Attentive Staff - food
Cons: - Pay attention to outside noise in master and grand suites - Sky Bar Lounge - not everyone loves pumping bass - rm charges in english
Location: I would fly Frontier Airlines direct from Chicago Vel Mar (?) in Santa Cruz great dinner on the beach Shopping at Oaxacan Museum in La Crucita
We went to Huatulco for our 25th wedding anniversary and to celebrate successful cancer surgery. It was very important for us to have a quiet space to relax. We did upgrade to a grand suite because it had a hammock on the balcony. We did not realize the airconditioning unit located between balconies on the lower level and the nearby highway noise would be a problem. Rooms 15, 16, 18 all have some highway noise. The Presidential Suites are away from the road and have a golf course ocean view. The food was excellent. The service was excellent as well. However we did ask for 2 carafes of coffee in the morning and they only sent one. Bar near pool and restaurant near pool were fantastic. Children are welcome and we did have little ones running through the restaurant as we at our Christmas Eve dinner. We were told 6 p.m. mass was at a church in nearby La Crucita when in fact it was at a different town. It is not a singles, loud, party place. Maid service and hotel staff kind and attentive. The walk to the beach is lovely however can be treacherous at night as there is little lighting and the bridge needs repair. Otherwise small sets of concrete stairs and pathways. You could always take the mini open air bus from the front of the hotel or call for it from the beach to pick you up. We were able to walk into the town. Avoid the coffee shop next to the eco spa, spoiled cream and not very clean. Safe to walk around the little town during the day not much to see however.

Huatulco in a HuracaniePosted Jun 21, 2012
Pros: Privacy, staff attention, views, food
Cons: TV is old , but we really hardly wanted to turn it on anyway
Location: perfect for relaxing and great views. if you want the hussale and bussle , this is not your hotel ...and Huatulco is not the place for this eihter
We got there the morning after the Huracaine had hit the area. The Staff was already in the process of cleaning all the public areas and geting bar and poll rady , even if there was only us and another couple schedule to arrive that day. they could not refund us for the first night which we di not spend there as the plane could not land and we arrivved the follwoing morning. HOwever they extended our stay by a day,

Great place to soak in the sunPosted Jan 5, 2009 on Hotels.com
The Quinta Real Huatulco is a great hotel/resort, with beautiful architecture, stunning ocean views and very friendly, helpful staff. The food is great, though expensive. The only downside are the 150 steps between the hotel and the beach, but there is a shuttle. It was a memorable vacation experience, and the staff helped make it so.

Would love to go back, very impressed.Posted Dec 3, 2008
As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by the excellent staff with smiles and cocktails. It was a wonderful feeling after so many hours of traveling. The facilities are absolutely beautiful. At this hotel, everyone understands what customer service is all about. Food is a little expensive, but you will not be dissapointed. Try the tlayudas! We hope to go back in the future.
