Great stop along I-10 in Texas

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Pros: Convenient location between San Antonio and El Paso. Clean and comfortable.
Cons: Better signage from the main road to show where to turn in, since the hotel sits a little back from the road.
We were looking for a place about half-way between Houston and El Paso, to break the trip up into two days. Rodeway Inn in Junction, TX right along Interstate 10 was a great choice. It is not a luxury hotel, but was very clean, comfortable and convenient. We had a good night's sleep and enjoyed an average yet satisfying breakfast to get us on our way the next day. The staff showed southern hospitality as we checked in, had breakfast, and checked out. We would stay here again.

Pros: Price
Cons: Take the bottle of room deodorizer away from this housekeeping staff
Location: 45 seconds off the I-10 Junction exit. Very convenient
We checked in late on a Thursday evening. No problem getting checked in the night clerk was attentive and pleasant. The room was clean and well appointed. The smell was horrendous!! Who ever had cleaned the room had either spilled a bottle of deodorizer on the floor or is a smoker and can't tell when a little is enough!.. I tried opening the door and letting the smell dissipate, actually cleaned the filters on the AC thinking she had sprayed it there, and finally gave up and went to bed. Barely slept as the smell was overwhelming. I finally at 3 AM resorted to stuffing Kleenex in my nose and slept. But by that time had developed a headache from the fragrance. I awoke tired and in need of more sleep. Needless to say it was a very disappointing stay in an otherwise nice room and hotel.

Rooms with a view

Posted Mar 19, 2012
Pros: Peaceful setting, and outdoor amenities
Cons: The in-room coffee and lack of a high-chair in the breakfast area
Location: Junction Texas is a quiet and scenic little town with a large and well equipped city park on the Llano River
The view of the Texas Hill Country and the nearby river is lovely and there are chairs outside most rooms so tired travelers can unwind and enjoy the scenery. There is play equipment for children that is helpful for little ones who have spent long hours in a car, covered tables and bar-b-ques for their parents. And, the motel is set far enough back from the interstate that traffic noise is almost non-existent.
