Old Wheeler Hotel
3.5 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (310)
"I was under the impression that we would have an in suite bathroom, but that was not the case. A minor inconvenience. The room was comfortable, with a nice view of the river. Breakfast was simple, but if you want a hot breakfast, there is a cafe called The Roost right next door. It was a nice, relaxing weekend. If we go again, I will be sure the confirm that the room is self contained."

"We had a little confusion at first about where our room was, but the owner helped direct us up the stairs. Even though the room was a part of a larger house, it didn't feel like it. We had plenty of room for the two of us and spent most of our days out exploring. A couple of small suggestions to make things even better for guests would be to add a fan during the hotter summer days. Overall, a lovely stay!"

"This rental might be just right for two people (perhaps two couples) who are traveling together but also want separate time. The separate upper and lower living units are accessed solely by an outdoor rock path and cedar stairway; there's no internal stairway. (We were at the rental during rainy days; the stairs were slick and did not have--but very much need--anti-slip treads.) The dwelling is in a beautiful, quiet, end-of-the-road setting with an elevated deck, grill, Adirondack chairs (for...
