5/5 Excellent
5-star hotel. Highly recommend.
"I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The staff was amazing. We bookended our vacation in Costa Rica by staying a night at both ends of it at the Hotel Presidente. We flew in to San Jose and then traveled to other cities. San Jose doesn’t have much to offer. However, this property really stands out and provides their guests with an actual experience. I wish I could remember the names of the team members who helped us out. They were so friendly and accommodating. I was in CR with friends to celebrate my 50th bday and they really made it special. They put amazing amenities in our room—both times. I never would have expected it, but it was such a nice touch. Their attention to detail was spectacular. When we drove up, it was pouring out. They greeted us at the car, gave us umbrellas, and helped us in with our luggage. The check in process was quick and easy. The front desk staff was incredible. They provided dining suggestions and helped us with directions. What made this place really stand out was how they handled a negative situation. Our room had been recently painted and it still had a very strong paint smell. I asked if there was a way to change rooms (I never want to be that guy)—even if it was a room downgrade. They gladly switched us, and actually upgraded us to a gorgeous, enormous room. To top it off, their breakfast buffet has something for everyone and their hotel bar is amazing. "
