They'll send you to Runaway BeachPosted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: The move to Runaway Beach....nothing about Montego Bay was even slightly pleasant
Cons: Don't book people and not have room for them. Expedia, you would do well to not service this hotel.
Location: Runaway Beach was secluded and quiet which was perfect for us. We also went to Dunns River Falls and did the hike up the falls which was excellent
We arrived in Montego Bay after several hours of travel for the day coupled with a shuttle ride to the hotel. Exhausted, the staff made us wait for 20 minutes while they were clearly trying to get their story in order. After the wait, they took us into the staff office to inform us that there was not a room available due to plumbing issues. When we challenged that as a lie and asked to see the room that was not capable of being stayed in, the manager on duty refused. They provided us no choice but to go to their sister resort in Runaway Beach. That Royal Decameron location was wonderful. Excellent staff, great service, beachside bungalow, etc. If anything the move was a blessing in disguise. I would not recommend the Montego Bay location to my enemy though after the way they treated us and clearly lied to our face in an effort to get rid of us and send us to the other location. It's pretty clear that they overbooked and moved those who had paid a discounted rate. Do NOT stay here; go to Runaway beach and let Silvan there take care of you. He and the rest of the staff were awesome.

Friendly staff, nice beach & location, good foodPosted Feb 20, 2015
Pros: Entertainment was fantastic, good food, nice gym, beautiful beach, friendly staff, convenient location. For a 3-star hotel, it's pretty good & clean.
Cons: poor water pressure in shower, no daily water bottles, no mini bar, no fresh strawberries or limes for margaritas, no free local calls, small pool
Location: Lots of excursions available, excellent location, close to airport, craft market nearby, some decent restaurants
When I arrived to the hotel there was no room for me. Apparently they had over-booked. I was disappointed and not impressed with the service. I waited in the lobby for over an hour for a Guest Service Agent / Manager to assist me. He suggested that I move to the Royal Decameron in Runaway Bay which is approximately 50 minutes away. I was not interested in this option as I had specifically booked my vacation in Montego Bay where my friends were staying. Furthermore, I was exhausted after a delayed flight and just wanted to get some sleep. I waited for another hour and then called Expedia who found an alternative hotel for me to stay at for one night. The Expedia staff were excellent!! The following day I returned to Royal Decameron. Management had a nice room ready for me. They upgraded me to an ocean view. They tried very hard to compensate me for my inconvenience. They were friendly and hospitable. They made things right and my stay was enjoyable. Perhaps it wasn't the best start to a vacation but at least they treated me well upon my return.

Friendly, Relaxing ResortPosted Feb 10, 2015
This was my husband and I first time to Montego Bay so we didn't know where to go and what to expect. The resort is very close to the airport. We got there before checkin so we didn't get to our room right away but was able to start drinking and eating. The food was good and if you are a fan of rum, you will love the drinks. All day long the staff is cleaning up and fixing the resort. My room was nice and clean. I think this resort is nice for the couple that are just trying to relax and enjoy each other company but if you are looking for a party, you may want to try another resort. It was an older, laid back crowd.

Great food, bad wi-fi.Posted Feb 9, 2015
Pros: The food was great. Good variety on the buffet.
Cons: The hotel's internet connection should be improved. Wi-fi was sporadic at best.
Location: Good location, close to downtown. Despite being so close to the airport, the noise was not bad at all.
We were assigned a first-floor room with a king bed when we arrived, despite having requested a different floor and double beds. We were promised a different room on the fourth floor the next day and told to "check out" at noon. Our new room was going to be ready "before 3." We were finally in our new room, on the third floor, around 5 pm and felt our first vacation day was pretty much "wasted." There seemed to be a lot of confusion about the room change.

Stolen Items from Room #43Posted Feb 4, 2015
Pros: Some of the nightly entertainment
Cons: Security cameras around the resort, better manager and regional manager with customer service skills in resolving issues on their resort
Location: Casinos, downtown and Magaritiville
My experience at this resort was very disappointing. We arrived on Nov. 14, 2014 and our room was not ready. The room did not have a safe, the hotel is old and need to be upgraded. I had stayed their 2 years prior and it was ok. Rooms not very clean. Food and drinks were ok to say the least. We did enjoy the nightly entertainment. On the night of 11-19-2014, some one went into our room and stolen money we filed a incident report but have not heard back from the manager nor regional manager. They will not return my call. We were promised a police report but did not get. Also some one went into room #37 and stole some of their personal items. We were at the front desk complaining at the same time about missing and stolen items. DO NOT STAY HERE !!!

Horrible hotelPosted Feb 4, 2015
Not only did we get robbed, but talking to other visitors there during our stay, three other couples got robbed... And the hotel management was awful. They told us we would get our money back, so we went through a series of investigations / police work and we never got anything back. We took it to the owner of the hotel and he straight up told us he was not going to turn it into insurance and we would not be compensated. They drug us around all week and ruined our vacation. They did not care at all, they knew the whole time we wouldn't get compensated

Near airport in JamaicaPosted Feb 3, 2015
Friendly helpful staff and great view of the water. Bar seems to be always open but food service times are restricted. Bar does not stock top shelf vodka if that is important to you but makes great drinks.

Beautiful beach propertyPosted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: location, atmosphere, staffs, nice crowd
Cons: rooms can be updated
Three private beaches, wonderful staffs, wonderful and polite crowd, water activities included (snorkeling gear, life jacket, sailing), tasty home-made style food. I have gone to this place twice already and plan to go back in the future.
