Jamaica Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

Jamaica is known for its beautiful beaches, tropical weather, and friendly natives. This island nation is the third-most populous English-speaking country in the Americas, coming in after the United States and Canada. Jamaica was taken by the United Kingdom from the Spanish in 1655, and today remains a Commonwealth realm.

When visiting, make sure to sample local delicacies such as jerk chicken. Rice and peas cooked in coconut milk and filled pastry dishes known as patties are popular foods as well.

    When to Visit

The general climate of Jamaica is tropical. Weather can be hot and humid, but the inland areas have a higher altitude than the coastal areas and, as such, have a more temperate feel. Temperatures generally run between the mid 70s and high 80s year round making for perfect swimming weather.

The best time to visit Jamaica is from October to mid-December. During this time, it's easy to find cheap hotel deals in Jamaica, allowing you to find and book top rooms at special discount rates and some of the best prices of the year for Jamaica hotels. The weather during this time is at its most gorgeous, and you can avoid much of the crowds present during the busier months.

The months of January to March are when most people visit Jamaica, particularly in March. This is another good time to visit as events such as the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, the Bob Marley Birthday Bash, and Bob Marley Week take place during this period of time. This is also the most popular time for tourists to visit, so the crowds can be quite large. If booking one of the hotels in Jamaica during this time, you will want to make reservations well ahead of time.

From April to June, the island experiences a rainy season. This is a great time to visit if you are looking for a cheap Jamaica hotel deal. Some of the most amazing Jamaica hotel deals and Jamaica hotel packages are offered at rock-bottom prices. In early April, the island holds a fabulous Carnival celebration with an amazing and stunning array of colors, sounds, and an extremely fun party atmosphere.

From July to September, flights and room rates are often the lowest of any time of the year, but this is also hurricane season. Many hotels and attractions close for renovations during this time further making it one of the least favorable times to visit.

Beautiful experience. HOWEVER, there were salespeople all over the place. They were like roaches trying to sign you up for a 90 minute presentation to encourage you to become part of their vacation club.

" Affordable Hotel Close To The Airport"
I enjoy spending time at the Holiday Inn in Montego Bay, Jamaica. W Then I need to get away from some of the stress of life without straining my pocket, this is the hotel I book. Among some of the things that I like about Holiday Inn, Montego Bay is that it is within short distance from the Airport. After a long flight, within fifteen minutes you will be standing in line to be checked-in. The hotel staff ensure that I am comfortable and are receptive to complaints. The management ensures that the environment is conducive to relieve stress and fosters relaxation and fun. I have gone to to this hotel five times and every time there is always some improvement done to make the place safer for all guests. I really admire that. Not to mention the food. There is a variety of foods for every nation. At meal time the spread is grand. Every one is quite friendly and ensures that I am comfortable and will go the last mile to ensure my stay is an enjoyable one. I travel to various places within Jamaica and other countries and have always come back to the Holiday Inn in Montego Bay because it is affordable, the great ambiance, great management and staff, close to the Airport and the food is amazing. I always enjoy my stay immensely.

    "Great stay!!! "
My sister and I came to celebrate her birthday. The room was cleaned beautifully by Peaches. The young ladies in the restaurant were gracious as well, along with good food. The cocktail drinks were on point. The owner Francis was wonderful as well. Last but not least, Lloyd, our driver, should us a great time. The beach was beautiful and well maintained. I will return in 2016 with my entire family🇯🇲

    "Beautiful Resort"
This is a beautiful resort - they've just renovated. Rooms were spacious and clean. The grounds were well kept, all facilites were very nice, and the views from all around the resort were very romantic. It's a great place to visit with a significant other. Entertainment was great, the staff was very friendly, helpful, personable and engaging. The nightly shows were always fun, whether it was dance performances or concerts. The beach is not the best, the sand in the water was very muddy, almost like a lake. Beautiful to look at, but I did not enjoy it as much as I had wished. Not much to be done about the beach however..

"This Hotel is all about the beach"
I'll start with this beach is GORGEOUS, crystal clear water. Weather was nice we went beginning of Nov, it did rain everyday but usually for about an hour around 5-6 pm. The sun is strong be sure to bring at least SPF 50. They did include dinners at 4 restaurants that you have to make reservations for or the buffet. They also have a chicken hut on the beach. The buffet food was surprisingly good as well as room service even though I wish the menu was a little bigger. We didn't really go in the pool at all, it was a bit small and there were many bees at the pool bar. There are servers on the beach to get drinks but it does take a while and they sometimes don't come back enough so you may need to get your own at times. The beach is breathtaking, however when on the beach you do tend to be hassled a bit by the locals as many of them are very poor just trying to make a living. If you walk down the beach they do have huts and sell many nice things you can take home as souvenirs, and you get to bargain down the price. If you're not interested just politely say no thanks and keep walking. They can only come up so far onto the beach and there are security on the beach to ensure you're not harassed. My biggest complaint was the bed, hard as a rock & maid service was not very good, they kept taking our towels without replacing them. We did get bit up bad! Be sure to bring bug spray as its $15USD at the gift shop. Not much to do after sunset if you're not a drinker.
