Pros: I really enjoyed the spa services. I booked 2 messages with Donna. She was amazing.
Cons: The size and comfort of the beds. I slept terrible the whole time we were there. The food selection wasn't the best either.
Location: Margaritaville has an awesome water slide, and the hip strip was fun to visit if you are looking for trinkets.
I enjoyed our hotel stay. The staff were average. The beds were super uncomfortable. We met a lot of great people, and that made the vacation. The food was average. We were in Montego Bay for Christmas, and the grand gala was great.

Best part is the staff.

Pros: Our favorite thing was that we could swim to a reef from shore, where we could snorkel and see plenty of fish; it's in a marine preserve.
Cons: Drinks were lousy-watered down to the max. Buffet food was nothing special. Internet service is horrible,
Location: Nowhere really within walking distance. Could take a cab to hip strip. Took shopping shuttle but we were only allowed to go in stores they took us to.
We grabbed a taxi from the airport since we knew this hotel was just 3 miles away. Cost was about the same as a shuttle ( both are super high to go just 3 miles!) maybe a couple bucks more. Taxi drivers are quite competitive, and they want to book your rides right away. Ours called us at the hotel on the day we left to see if he could take us back to the airport. He stopped and ran in a liquor store and bought us beer after hubby asked about local brews, then charged us for it. Stupid since we didn't have a fridge and stayed at an all inclusive! Staff is super nice and very friendly. Nice that they have kayaks, snorkel gear, and give catamaran rides. Buffet food was not that great, but At least they do make omelets to order. I had a good tenderloin at the Italian restaurant, but hubby said his pasta dish was by Chef-boy-ar-dee. We both had great meals at the Carribbean restaurant. Pools were nice, never packed. Most close by 6 pm, but lazy river one was open til 10. They have two big hot tubs, water temps vary from lukewarm to super hot. We didn't try the water slides, but some of the kids at the resort said they were fun. Rooms were noisy sometimes. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Room safes in closet, balcony. All in all, room was ok but nothing great. We took the shuttle to Negril one day, nice to see some of the countryside. Beach at Negril is lovely, I think we would stay there if we go back. Vendors on beach were relentless though.

Nice hotel. Close to beach.

Pros: Friendly staff, closeness of beach. Breakfasts were excellent. Looks like a great place for families.
Cons: More variety on supper menus . More variety on entertainment.
Location: Location good..we did a couple of tours which were fairly close. Some tours were further away which would take most of the day.
Enjoyed our stay. Meals were pretty repetitive. Thought maybe more seafood. At least one night. Entertainment could have been better. One thing it was quite, which we enjoyed and there was always lawn chairs to be had. Beach and at the pools. All in all good.

Amazing time! I can't wait to go back!

Pros: The food was the best!
Cons: I would encourage some of the staff to smile more. It goes a long way and makes tourists feel more welcome.
I stayed at Sunset from January 2nd to January 7th and had a splendid time. For one, the food was beyond fantastic! One of the reasons I chose Sunset is because they serve authentic Jamaican food. To that end, they did not disappoint. They served a variety of foods and cuisines and it was all delicious. I overate even when I promised myself I wouldn't. It was irresistible! Two, the staff at the activities pool did all they could to engage the vacationers. Kanijah, Gary, MarshaLee, etc. went above and beyond their call of duty to make us feel at home and have fun with the activities. The reggae zumba was the best! We also took advantage of kayaking, sailing, and other water activities. There was never a dull moment. If we wanted to be around people and action during the day, we stayed by the activities deck, where they played reggae all day. If we wanted peace and quiet, we went to the beach or to the other pools where there wasn't music. The important thing to note is that you had choices and there was something for everyone. Last but not least, the room was simply decent but always clean. We weren't in the room for any length of time to require anything more. Overall, we had an amazing time and can't wait to go back. I had one of the best vacations ever. Thanks, Sunset!

Update room

Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: The staff and the pool view
Cons: the dated rooms, plus provide shampoo, conditioner and lotion
Location: The location is great and very close to the airport. Tons a things to do in Mo bay
The room was comfortable but very old and dated. both the bedroom and bathroom needs updating. I just do not understand why this resort does not provide the little bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotions. I have never seen that before. The staff there is really really great though. The wifi did not work for the days I was there, though they charged me for it. The staff is really the best thing about this resort. Also "all-inclusive" means only hotel and food, almost everything else carries a charge

Went out on a sightseeing tour, leave my room at 8:00 am, have breakfast, leave on the tour bus return at 4:00 pm 8 hr later tired from the tour went back to my room to take a shower and rest, upon my return my room was not clean and remake this was very annoying. On Tuesday 4/6 the towels from my rooms were removed but no clean towels was returned to the room for a whole day I had to call the night manager to get towels he was very professional and courteous. Up on my second day one of the staff put a hotel rules and regulations in my key slot about the rules and bylaws of smoking in the room as a NONSMOKER this was an insult to my integrity I was really annoyed at this. The food , lots of choices could have been better. my best eating experience was in the Asian restaurant this is what I am more accustomed to the service above and beyond my waiter was very professional he time my meal perfectly from appetizer to salad and entrée his name is don't remember he have a unique name (kushon) something like that. my check in with Moyer was very exquisite and professional all the front desk staff were very professionals . The gift shop staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about all the item prices they were extremely courteous. Sorry no picture.

Lots of children.

Pros: Specialty restaurants, the price.
Location: The location is 15 minutes from the airport and very convenient.
The hotel is on the beach. The cost was low compared to other resorts. We liked the workout facilities. The meals in the specialty restaurants were very good. There was a lot of noise outside the main entrance to the resort in the night and our room was on the front side of the hotel. Our sleep was interrupted many times.

Fabulous vacation!

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: All inclusive, food, entertainment, polite staff, spa!
Cons: Few repairs to rooms and walls throughout resort. Debris from pools could be cleaned more frequently. Jets need to be repaired in hot tub in kid's poo
Location: Mystic Mountain pretty cool. Book river tubing well in advance... tours fill up quickly.
The hotel was a little rundown BUT nothing major and did not effect our having a great time. The pools could have been cleaned a little more often BUT the amount of chlorine was great. The food was AWESOME, staff was EXTREMELY courteous and helpful, and the oceanfront room was COMFORTABLE !! Both my daughter and I have EVERY INTENTION of returning to Jamaica again and won't even begin to look at another resort! We were COMPLETELY satisfied with Sunset Beach!!!

Nice Hotel with friendly staff

Posted Jan 10, 2015
Pros: The service and the food
Cons: More organized entertainment during the day and night
Location: Shopping trip to the Fairview mall in montego Bay
Overall my stay at the hotel was amazing with one minor flaw. Upon checking in I was greeted with a refreshing tropical drink which made me feel special and my wait for my room tolerable (my room was not ready upon check-in. There was plenty of delicious food and drinks during meal time. The staff was amazing, super friendly and very helpful. Kayon, Pauline, and Lisa from front desk have a beaming personality. The ladies took time out of their busy schedule to socialize with me without me feel like I was interrupting their day. Keavon (not sure of the spelling of his name) was so thoughtful... my niece, my son and myself was staying in same room and he took the initiative brought a small bed for my little niece. Love the heritage day it was very informative. The only flaw was that during the outside show there was not enough tables and chairs for my family and we had to wait a long time for the employees to bring in an extra table and chairs. t

Great hotel, good food and amazing views!

Adult pool and beach area were empty and felt private. Food was decent but the food at the sunset grille was disgusting (other than fries and nachos). Definitely going back!!
