The location was ideal for family members from SF, LA and Chicago to meet and do wine country tours. The yard is beautiful, fenced in and was loved by our 3 dogs. Unfortunately the rainy winter weather did not allow us to dine outside as we wanted. The kitchen served as a gathering point as the family which baked copious quantities of bacon buns. Becky was the friendly point person and quick to return calls. The house served to remind me how lucky we were to avoid buying a Victorian during our early house hunting years. Heating was surprisingly great and the hot water supply plentiful. Beds varied in firmness...so we picked and chose to fit our needs. While the house is in good shape, wear and tear is starting to show up and the property needs some significant touch up on trim indoors and out. Some flooring under the carpet is soft, suggesting broken flooring, particularly near one bathroom which almost ended up in a turned ankle. We stepped on some nails in a doorway (quickly remedied by Becky and her friend). The major issue was running into unexpected strangers on the property 3 days running. The owners were showing the property for wedding events or B&B...something that I have not run into in similar rentals. A heads-up would have been polite. Better yet they need to decide if its a B&B or VRBO...Jacko's steak house was recommended but at 6pm we were told the wait was 3 hrs! We picked up a pizza in a neighboring town.
