We went to Reno with my young kids and didn't want to stay in a smoke filled casino and found Lakeridge resort. This place is great. Large condo style rooms with a kitchen and washer/dryer. Very comfortable for staying the weekend. Starbucks is across the street! The pool is great and the basketball courts for my boys gave them something to do other than sitting and watching tv. I would definitely stay there again.

I decided to try a different place this time with no casino. I still wanted something within walking distance to a casino and took a look at some reviews and rolled the dice and hoped that I would not be disappointed. First impression, the staff is outstanding and very friendly. Everyone we encountered always greeted us and made us feel important. Rooms were good size and clean with everything that would be needed. The gym looked impressive if your going to workout during your stay. The rock climbing wall is great for kids or the ambitious although I did not use them. We elected to spend more on the room that included breakfest and we're pleased we did. Not only to you get a hot breakfest buffet but also evening cocktails and appitizers. Was a great way to start your day and evening and the cost is small in comparison to other options. After our three days, we found this to be the best of all worlds and can't wait to go back.

Never been to Reno before...doubt I would go back...however, would definitely make a side trip to stay at the Grand Sierra again! If you are en route somewhere ...make a detour - well worth it! The hotel was first class all the way...great selection of restaurants and the food was amazing (buffet not so good...but ok). The staff are pleasant and helpful, the rooms were well appointed and beds comfy. The casino was good too...light, bright, no smoke smell. If I had one suggestion for the hotel, it would be to have more entertainment. The pool is great ...even has a beach! Unfortunately the weather gods were not in our favour - but we did manage a quick dip in the large hot tub. Great hotel if you travelling with kids...there's bowling, an arcade, go karts...

The front desk personnel were extremely accommodating. The food was above excellent, and the casino waitresses were courteous, prompt, and circulating frequently. The housekeeping was a little lax insofar as having to ask for washcloths...and don't like the idea of not changing bed linens daily. This is a must in my opinion in an upscale hotel. Casino was awesome, and the facilities were up to date with ticket kiosks, airline checkins, ATMs, passport club, stores, etc.
