Beautiful and convenient hotel in Rome

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was a real treat and the service was great. The rooms were small but clean and neat. The bathroom was nicely updated.
Cons: The mattresses could be better. They were quite stiff and difficult to sleep on.
Location: Great location that was central to many of the things to do in Rome. 15 minute walk to the Vatican and 30 minute walk to the Roman Forum.
My husband and I stayed at Isa for three nights and we loved our hotel. It was central to some of the great attractions of Rome, especially close to the Vatican. The staff were great and very accommodating. We started off with a twin room since we arrived late in the day and there were no double rooms left but they offered to move us to a double room the next day. The breakfast at the hotel was delicious and amazing. It wasn't American style but a great Italian breakfast with cured meats and pastries. There is only one elevator and it can be a little hard to use sometimes since it is so small but it wasn't a big problem. My only problem with the hotel were the beds! Everything was great and clean but the mattresses were not very soft. It was difficult to get a good night's sleep. Otherwise, it was a wonderful place to stay.

Great Location,

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: everything,
Cons: cannot think of anything,
Location: Vatican, St Angelo castle, good restaurants, what more could you ask for?
within reasonable walking distance to most of the major attractions, supermarket nearby, very good transport system, but beware of rip off merchants, do not buy gifts from the shops leading up to the vatican! the gift shop in the dome of st peter is much cheaper than the tourist trap shops that suck you in with their so called vatican approved souvenirs,

Excellent hotel in a great location

We've been lucky enough to go on various city breaks in the last year and this hotel is up there with the best of those we've stayed in. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and by the smell of the open fire in the lounge area just behind reception. That smell gives you the impression of being out in the countryside and when you enjoy the delicious breakfast or an evening drink on the roof terrace you leave the hustle and bustle of the city well behind. The hotel is located in a quiet part of town and there are a number of non-touristy restaurants and cafés in the side streets round about. The metro is about 5 minutes walk away and the Vatican maybe just more than 10. I've slept in more comfortable beds, but after walking this beautiful city and enjoying the odd glass of red wine or prosecco I doubt you'll notice.

Pros: Location, nice staff, great breakfast.
Cons: Internet speed could be better. Rooms could use some new paint.
Location: Vatican City, City tour busses are close. Many, many small cafés and resteraunts are close. Many historical sites within easy walking distance.
Nice hotel, great location from which to base a Rome vacation.

Comfortable hotel but nothing special

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Cons: -wifi -offer complimentary bottles of water to long-staying guests
The rooms were comfortable and I think the big highlight was the extremely helpful staff. Francesco, Elena and others were very good about sharing local restaurants and giving directions to places. Tremendous help - thank you. I felt the hotel was a little plain. it's the little things that make the hotel special. like the generosity of the staff and the nice fresh breakfast buffet every morning. But the little things that were disappointing were: -internet wifi kept going down -only ONE complimentary bottle of water and only on the first day?? (we were there for 6 nights so for the amount of money we were spending, surely you can spare more than a bottle) other than that, I thought the hotel was okay. I've had better experiences. Staff was great, like I mentioned earlier!

Good position. Lovely roof terrace, great views.

Pros: Quirky decor, mixture of old and new. Could have done with more storage but other than that everything was great.
Cons: Storage in bedroom. Otherwise very comfortable and well furnished.
Location: 15 min walk from Vatican. 5 mins from Castel Sant Angelo. Maximum 10€ taxi ride from everywhere else we visited.
Brilliant trip. Walking distance to many of the compulsory sights. Breakfast was enjoyable. All the staff were pleasant and approachable.

Great Location

Pros: Roof terrace, quaint old fashioned lift, room available before check-in time, leave luggage free of charge before departure.
Cons: Tea and coffee facilities in room. More English TV channels.
Location: Perfect for walking to park (5 mins). 10 - 30 mins to all main attractions.
The hotel was in walking distance to all main attractions 10 to 30 minutes which was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The weather was gorgeous which gave my husband and I the opportunity to sit outside on the roof terrace for breakfast each morning, and take in the wonderful view of St Peter's church. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great location and wonderful breakfast

We stayed for 5 days in Rome at Isa hotel. The location was great, just a walking distance from the Vatican and more special places. The hotel looks great but the room was dissapointing. It was clean but looking old and needs overall. We got the room facing the street so there was noise all the time. Breakfast was great, the staff was nice and proffesionall.

Stylish hotel near to all the main sites

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: Everything was spotlessly clean
Cons: Open the bar on Sunday nights
Location: The hotel is very close to the river and Castel Sant'Angelo. There is an amazing bar and restaurant near by called Enoteca.
We had 3 nights in room 508, which had a balcony overlooking the road. The hotel is really lovely, beautifully decorated and perfectly clean. The two lounge areas, one with an open wood fire were very comfortable, and the bar with the view out to St Peters basilica was excellent. It was a shame there was a private function in there on Saturday, which prevented guests from using it, but you can see why it would be in demand. The choice at breakfast is extensive and beautifully presented. The location is fairly close to the Vatican and the roads are a little quieter than other areas which was appreciated. It is easy enough to walk to all the main sights, but the metro line wasn't very far away if you need to get to the other side of Rome quickly. I would recommend this hotel to business people (free wifi) and to tourists alike.

Centrally located

Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: Staff was helpful and knowledgeable; good breakfast; good location
Cons: Replace the mattresses
Location: Near Vatican City and Piazza del Popolo (which gives you a nice direct route to the Spanish steps and Piazza Venezia)
The hotel is centrally located in the Prati neighborhood with easy access to Vatical City. The hotel staff are multilingual and helpful in recommending tours, providing directions and calling for taxi service. A nice variety of options are available for breakfast which is set up before 7AM. The common areas of the hotel are very nice and appear to be recently updated, however my room could use some work. The room I was in was quite small, which is not uncommon for a European hotel, it also overlooked a main road which could get quite noisy during the night and looked like it had seen better days. At a minimum it could use a fresh coat of paint. All these items are minor inconveniences, but the real problem was the incredibly hard mattress which made it difficult to sleep at night.
