Rome's landscape is dominated by breathtaking art and architecture across seven hills. Atop Capitoline Hill, bustling Piazza del Campidoglio is a fitting start to a Roman adventure. Surrounded by stunning basilica Santa Maria in Aracoeli and entrancing museums, the piazza is a 15-minute walk from Rome's ancient Colosseum. Other notable landmarks, fountains, ruins and museums are scattered around Rome and are easily accessed via train or public bus. Lodging in Rome is abundant and varied, with the best Italy hotel deals available at three- and four-star properties during winter and summer months.

The world's preeminent fashion scene is north of Rome in cosmopolitan Milan. Top boutiques, galleries, and shops fill Milan's Fashion Quadrangle between Duomo, San Babila, and Cavour Squares. Duomo Square is the heart of the city and the home of the iconic Gothic white marble Duomo cathedral and the 18th-century Royal Palace.

East of Milan lies mysterious Venice, host of the opulent Carnivale festival. Traverse this car-less city by foot or by canal to Byzantine St. Mark's Square, where the famed Basilica, Doge's Palace, and Campanile offer hours of enjoyment. Venetian lodging is plentiful, but the best discount rates on Italy hotels are available about 20 miles north in beautiful Treviso.

Southwest from Venice/Treviso, journey to the warm, glowing Tuscany region. Known for its fabulous wines and rolling hills, Tuscany overflows with museums and buildings spotlighting its Italian Renaissance roots. Capital Florence holds some of the world's most recognized masterpieces, including Botticelli's "Birth of Venus" at Uffizi and Michaelangelo's "David" at the Galleria dell'Accademia. Florence offers a variety of special Italy hotel packages with low prices on rooms in three- and four-star properties.

Traveling through Italy's extraordinary sites is affordable especially when you look for a cheap Italy hotel deal in Rome, Milan, Treviso, or Florence. Book your reservations during inexpensive winter or summer months, and choose locations near your must-see attractions. With all that you'll save on hotels in Italy, you'll feel victorious enough to quote Julius Caesar, "Veni, vidi, vici!"

    "Exceptional value via Expedia"
I used Expedia to book 4 hotels for my trip to Switzerland, Rome, and Luxembourg. I am very happy with the value I received for these hotels Excellent staff. Very much in tune with me as an important customer. We were made to feel welcome at every turn. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and was very much above average and exceeded expectations. If I return to Rome, especially by train, I would definitely be checking the availability at this hotel. Airport is 50 minutes away by taxi and 50 Euros. There is a train to he airport from the Roma Termini station and costs much less Numerous restaurants less than 2 blocks away. We had a 4 course meal and our appetizers looked like the main course.

    "comfortable+reasonably priced, very friendly staff"
we needed a hotel close to the FCO airport; we booked far in advance and got a great rate for a family of 4 (kids 9 and 12). Pls make sure not to confuse it with the other Hilton Airport - this one is abt 1 miles out of the terminal, while the other one is literally INSIDE the terminal... We felt welcome and the room was clean and comfortable, I would recommend it for anybody who has an early flight...

"Within walking distance of the airport"
My main memory is of the very noisy public areas due to the exclusive use of very hard surfaces that reflect sound. We ate in the restaurant but do not recommend it. My "Caesar Salad" was made from iceberg lettuce, not very fresh, and a dressing without flavour. Service, in general, was grudging. We picked up an airport trolley from just outside the hotel and wheeled it with our luggage to the airport. Its a good walk but very convenient. On the other hand, there is nothing else in the vicinity except various airport technical services and administrative buildings.

Starhotels Splendid Venice delivers more for your money than I was expecting. The public spaces were large, comfortable and well appointed. Our room and bathroom were both generously sized. The location was perfect for getting to the major sites in the city. When I return I'll definitely be staying there again.

    "Excellent location"
We had a fantastic time in Milan. The city is easy to get around on foot once we had found our bearings. We used the Metro several times. The cheapest way to eat is to go for the Apperitivo meal which is about ten euros for a buffet meal all you can eat plus a drink. Good areas to eat are Brera and Porta Genova the canal area. There is a good atmosphere. A must to see is Sforza Castle museums where you will see the last unfinished sculpture by Michelanelo very moving! Also the revealed ceiling designed by Leonardo da Vinci. A must is also the Duomo don't miss the Bapistry! Cheaper ticket if you use stairs to the top of the Duomo. It's about 11 euros. Don't forget to book before you go if you want to see The Last Supper at The Santa Maria dele Grazie. We also did a train journey to Como which is about an hour away. Once there it is possible to get a fast boat which takes an hour to Ballagio. It is quite expensive but worth it. The slow boat is cheaper but takes two hours.

    "Charming boutique hotel near Duomo"
My husband and I just returned from Milan and had an incredible stay at the UNA Maison Milano. The staff were exceptional and extremely friendly, graciously helping with any need. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and clean. We had a view of the main street and it wasn't loud at all. Also, the hotel is in a prime location, conveniently located within steps of the Duomo, metro, and other tourist attractions. We highly recommend this hotel....five stars!?!?
