"We decided to stay at the Latchis because the unique art deco exterior has intrigued us for many years, and the interior more than lived up to the promise of time travel back to the 1930s. Some of the reviewers appear to have gotten lost on their way to a Holiday Inn Express, finding fault with the rugs or the mattresses or the cleaning, and missed the fact that we were in one of the most unique hotels in New England—a loving if not lavish restoration—for the same price. If only more hoteliers had the courage to take on properties like this one. "

"We had an excellent off-season stay here. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were exceptionally clean, spacious, with very comfortable beds. The whole property is friendly to dogs on leashes(except possibly inside The Red Slate Restaurant). We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time exploring nearby Manchester, Londonderry, and Dorset. The Red Slate had an excellent menu and we ate there for 2 dinners and breakfasts (reservations on Open Table Suggested). The bar features all Vermont made beer, wine, and liquor, with inventive cocktails. We would highly recommend! Please note that during the off-season A/C was not available in our room, the outdoor pool was closed, the only access to 2nd floor is via stairs, and the room interior was slightly outdated. These things did not negatively effect our trip in any way. Will definitely stay here again. :)"
