Dated hotel and rude employesPosted Apr 18, 2015
We arrived early since we had an overnight flight and they were able to accommodate our early check in but not without the young miserable girl in the offices attitude. Then we went over to have breakfast to only encounter more rude employes and a male with light eyes staring at us the entire time. He eventually had his employes come over to our table to tell us our 2 yr old could not touch the salt or sugar packets. Not a good way to start out vacation. At that point I had wish I had taken the insurance on our trip. These people live on a beautiful island and they are miserable. Rude people should not work the front desk nor interact with customers. Aside from the rudeness and dated rooms the hotel is perfectly located. We rented a car a saw where other hotels were located and we were happy with our choice. The other two ladies in the office were very nice because of one of them we did get our room sooner on arrival. The pool was pretty gross. The young pool boy did the minimal which is why it looked like it did. I'm sure their is someone on st croix that would be happy to have his job. I believe if the owners of the hotel took a better look at their employes their guest would be much happier.

Excellent staff, great viewsPosted Apr 18, 2015
The staff was very friendly and always helpful. The room is a little dated but very clean with beautiful bathrooms. The Tuesday evening party on the beach was such a great time! We will be back for sure. Thank you to everyone at the hotel.

Darius Bailey stays on the CayPosted Apr 17, 2015
I would recommend staying at this hotel. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a week. It was our first time in the island. Although there are better rated lodging facilities on the island, I believe this hotel represents the island well.

Cons: Update the rooms Change restaurant management
Nice location...beautiful view of the sunrise. Had to put a bath towel up to ensure privacy because window louvers are dated and crooked which allows passerby's to see inside your room.

A Gem - Excellent Water Taxi - but too many stepsPosted Mar 9, 2015
Location: plenty of restaurants and attractions in Christiansted
There is a fine beach and the ferry makes this hotel easy to access. The beach is very nice. The ferry makes the restaurants and attractions and shops of Christiansted easy to access. Room was clean. WIFI works. Too many steps.

LOCATION, location, locationPosted Mar 8, 2015
Pros: LOCATION and Beach! Saw a HUGE stingray while snorkeling right past the seawall.
Cons: Update the hotel. In addition, at times, there was an awful sewage smell to the point where we had to close the balcony doors (disappointing).
Location: We went on Big Beards' sunset cruise twice. Awesome service (ANDY is great!), beautiful views and for $35.00 the best thing to do with two hours.
I am a beach bum at heart, never seen a beach I didn't like. This being said, this beach on the own little island with the ferry is so charming! People were friendly, but not overly in your business. The hotel is very basic but CLEAN. Little kitchenette is wonderful. To eat affordably with great homecooked food - go to KIM'S - amazing taste and quality food. If I had some money to invest, I would fix up Hotel on the Cay and charge more money; it is the best location (a diamond mine) in the city. It could use some updating, but for the money, great deal, great stay. Thank you!
