Best hotel in ValemontPosted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness and upkeep of the property is important to me as well as the hospitality of the staff.
Cons: The only thing that we noticed was that the mattress was saggy.
Location: The mountain and forest view from the common room, the restaurant and some of the client rooms is outstanding.
This is the most popular hotel in Valemont. If you want a room, be sure to book ahead as we've been disappointed when we haven't! The hotel's interior design is perfect for the mountain location with it's stone fireplace and log accents. The mountain scenery from the hotel is beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. The check in clerk upgraded our room to a suite and then gave us a discount on our rate! - maybe because of our age? If busyness is an indication of a good restaurant then the hotel restaurant certainly serves decent food as it always seems busy.

Great Hotel ne t to a trailPosted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, attentive staff, next to the Cranberry Marsh walk
Cons: Small milk in refrigerator for coffee/tea
Location: Cranberry Marsh Trail - a great walk in the evening or early morning
We overnighted at the Best Western without knowing much about it. We were delighted to find it was adjacent to the Cranberry Marsh Trail which we walked early the next morning and it wS wonderful. Great birdlife and good markings and explanations. The hotel staff were excellent and the dinner in the restaurant was very good value for money. Overall a very good experience and would strongly recommend for others.

Right on the HighwayPosted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Convenience, location and accommodations.
Cons: There could be a continental breakfast available.
Location: We were just passing through so the area was inconsequential. I loved the fact that it was on the highway and we didn't need to look for it.
There were 4 of us travelling together and two of us needed separate beds and the other two slept together. We were able to get a room where we could all be in the same room. We were travelling with two 90 year old sisters and needed to be able to keep an eye on them.

Elevator did not workPosted Aug 6, 2014
Elevator did not work. We were not told this fact until after we were given our room. One of the higher priced rooms during our weeks' stay in Canada. Best of the limited offerings in the town.

Nice hotel, right off the highway.Posted Jul 30, 2014
Cons: Better customer service at the front desk!
All was good except for the front counter staff. I found them to be very rude and snippy. When we arrived the pool was closed. I politely asked, "what time does your pool close?" Answer, "It's closed." It took me 3 tries to get the pool times from the lady. When we were checking out, there were 3 groups ahead of me, but only 1 out of 2 front desk staff were assisting. I had booked through Expedia and from my print-out, was unsure if this had been pre-paid or not (another Hotel I had booked on the trip was pre-paid). I again found the lady (different staff member than the night before) to be quite rude when answering my questions. She overcharged me on the rate which I didn't catch until after I left (I don't feel like arguing over the phone to correct this) and also tried to charge me for breakfast even though I had purchased the rate that included breakfast (that one fortunately I did catch).

Very nice, quiet, out of the way hotel.Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, quietness, amenities.
Cons: Of course, the price could always be lower
Unexpectedly nice hotel for this area. Our suite was much nicer than other best western we have stayed in and the attached restaurant had very good food at decent prices. The staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any traveler.
