Canada Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

From the snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies to bustling cities like Toronto and Vancouver, you can't go wrong with a vacation in Canada. Since it's a nation of considerable size, Canada resorts will look very different depending on where you visit. On the East Coast, the Maritime region has beautiful Atlantic coastline resorts, which serve as an entrance to the wildlife of the St. Lawrence Seaway, like the snowy white beluga whale. The old-world charm of Montreal and Quebec City are as close to Europe as you can get without leaving North America. The opportunities to enjoy the water and cities along the Great Lakes are a great reason to visit Ontario. The Plains states offer remote beauty with unique sights that few have been privileged to see. The Canadian Rockies offer world-class skiing and also played host to the 2008 winter Olympic village. Finally, the temperate climate, extreme wildlife like Grizzlies and Orcas, and hip cities like Victoria and Vancouver make a trip to British Columbia a great option as well. No matter what your taste, Canada has something unforgettable to offer, and is a great way to discover these opportunities for yourself.

    Getting Here

Because of its close proximity to the U.S., flights to Canada are not always necessary. If you live in a border state, it's often just a short drive. Of course, there is a great transportation system consisting of airports, trains, buses, and roads throughout the more populated areas of the country. In the West, Vancouver and Victoria are the major cities. Centrally, Toronto and Ottawa are the ways in. Montreal is the major city in the Northeast and serves as a great way to get into the Maritime region of the nation. Otherwise, the Maritime area can be visited by taking a short drive from Boston or Portland, Maine. If you're more interested in remote fishing or hunting trips, it may be best to enter via Anchorage, Alaska. Visit to see which Canadian destination is right for you.

    Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver

791 West Georgia Street, Vancouver - Map
"Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown"
We upgraded to a suite which was perfect for entertaining a guest who visited prior to heading downstairs for an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant, YEW, and also for room service breakfasts. Having two full bathrooms made it feel more like home. The entire staff - doormen, porters, concierge, check-in, housekeeping, room service and dining room/bar - did an outstanding job to ensure our stay at The Four Seasons was memorable. The hotel is centrally-located and we were able to walk easily to the art gallery, opera house, Gastown and more. Shoppers would be delighted with easy access to the Pacific Mall with a huge range of stores from high end to more budget conscious in addition to the designer boutiques located on the nearby streets.

If you are looking for urban location, no nowhere else. The Sutton Place is located right in the center of it all. The room had a very nice view on Robson Street. Despite the traffic, little noise came in (at least on the 15th floor. The hotel is a bit on the older side so the bathroom granite shows it's age, the drawers in the room are in need of some adjustments, although most of the other amenities are in fine shape.

    "Overall not bad"
The one thing that was a pain is that you have to keep changing elevators to go in and out. Also at check in the guests should be informed that breakfast is not complimentary, as most hotels are. My husband assumed it was, we ate, not very much and then got a bill of $55.00. I almost fell off my chair. I realize it is buffet...but $55.00. If I was given the information that is was not complimentary, then I would have gone elsewhere and paid a whole lot less for one egg and a croissant!!! Not very happy about this!!!

"Great location; centrally located in Montreal."
Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Considering the amount of rooms in this hotel, we didn't hear anyone next to us. We didn't eat in the hotel for breakfast as it was a bit expensive. The hotel is located right above the underground mall which allowed us to get breakfast at various places. In addition, the Amtrak station and Metro are located under the hotel so we didn't need to take our car out of the hotel at all; we used Uber's, and the Metro's to get to far places. I would definitely go back to this hotel.
