Probably the worst hotel in Avignon

Posted Jul 1, 2013
Pros: Leaving
Cons: The all pervading smell
An awful hotel that reeks of an unpleasant chemical. The room was dingy, the bath filthy and the toilet/hand basin area was poorly tiled and grubby. Do not stay here under any circumstances.

A budget hotel

Nice cheap hotel. Close to the train station and to the Popes Palace. Very quiet, but old.

Book at Your Own Risk

Smelly and mildew-filled bathroom -- guy at front desk ignored complaints, but the housekeeper tried her best to do some extra cleaning. It got a little better but it was still very unpleasant. Noisy. Dingy. Lousy mattress. Linoleum floor that just can't be cleaned anymore. No shower curtain, shower head sprays in a couple directions, so the bathroom floor floods with every shower, no matter how careful one tries to be. Just a single overhead light in the room, no bedside reading lamps. One single very hard chair. No shelves or drawers to unpack any items, but frankly, I kept my suitcase zipped most of the time I was here. Only positive was the neighborhood, very convenient to the train and downtown and restaurants, right across from the Tourist Office.

Location was the only good thing

The room was in bad condition (kind of dark and oldish), it was not very clean, the bedsheets were torn and had stains on them. But the hotel was right next to the tourism office which is good. But Avignon being a small city, if you are within the city walls you can walk to all the major locations pretty easily. So I would recommend a different hotel for future Avignon visitors.

not good

Pros: Price
Cons: Everything except price.
If the price is your only option, you can choose this one. If not, find someone else. Good luck.

within the Avignon walls

Posted May 10, 2011 on Hotels.com
We settled on the hotel for the last night as we were transitting from the Nice area back to Paris. The hotel needs to be updated. Everything looks and feels old, perhaps because the bldg is old too. Also the hot water was temperamental andyou had to run the water a long time for it to come - a lot of wastage that I was not too happy about. I had a very tepid shower but by the time my husband got into the shower the water was piping hot. The location is really good as you can walk to everything within the walls of the city and close to the bus stop to get you to other locations including the Avignon station. So if you don't care too much about your sleep surroundings this will do.
