Bit dated, but good basic accommodations

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Cons: Facilities need update Strange setup where there isn't an agent waiting at the desk but they appear after you walk up to the registration counter
Location: Great shopping nearby but you need to drive to it.
Room was clean, but a bit dated. The location was convenient (by drive) to shopping and other activities we were interested in. Good for kids as the location is in a bungalow style. Very good free breakfast offerings. Checking in was friendly, but checking out was perfunctory.

4th of July room search

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: The breakfast was very good!!!
Cons: How to find the room.
Location: The beach is about 10 minutes, but Ventura in general is too cold most of the time.
The breakfast was good. The room was good, but finding the room was difficult, the hotel is spread out like the projects in southeast Los Angeles. But overall, I would stay here again.

This was NO Marriott

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: The room was relatively quite; that is until the individuals staying in the room above us came in about 2:00 A.M. You could hear every footstep!
We booked because of the name (Marriott). This was NO Marriott except for the price! Approximately 24 individual buildings comprised of 4 suites on each of two floors. • The air conditioning did not work. Maintenance worker was unable to repair and was not very knowledgeable in the area of air conditioner compressors, etc. The worker finally just left and never came back. • Some of the light fixtures did not work. • The clock radio on the table next to the bed was not set correctly and several hours off. • The door to the shower area was a 'pocket' door which was so badly bowed the paint was worn off an area nearly the entire width of the door. It took an Orangutan to open or close the pocket door. The door had been in this condition for a very, very long time. • We asked for another comparable room and were told there were none available.

Your own apartment with great facilities

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: Better TV reception - kept freezing
From arrival to check out this experience was great - did not know that room would be a mini apart, ment with full fridge/freezer, dish washer, etc. Was only there for one night but the quality of the room, the fact that you had sofas to relax in as well as a great bed (best nights sleep on whole trip) madw this a great final stop of a 14 night, 11 hotel tour of the SW USA

good place for families

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Nice place in an "ok" location--close enough to beaches but not without traffic to get there, and the neighborhood is nothing special. BUT the amenities like the pool, tennis courts, breakfast and the fact that you have a kitchen made it a great stop of our family. The staff were all really nice and we would totally return!

Nice hotel with lots of room

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: The rooms where very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The hotel grounds where nicely maintained as well. next to golf course also
Cons: Noticed some rooms with several dogs and cats. I would suggest have some non-pet rooms. also, the "queen" beds where quit small.
Location: some good restaurants and shopping within a short drive. Didn't look like anything within walking distance.
went to a swim meet in Ventura with my Family. Needed lots of beds and space so this hotel fit the requirements.

Great room, beautiful property, lowest price. but

Posted Jun 6, 2015
A lot of great things to say about this hotel itself. It's newer then most in the area. The rooms are double the size of the rooms at the equivalent price. Even if you don't golf there is no comparison in the area. The downside is there is nothing but golf that is walking distance. But 2 mile in any direction there is High end dining, theaters, a large mall, the beach. Golf The only negative was the front desk didn't answer when I called. They started prepping the golf course at 6 so a lot of lawn mower and leaf blower noise. Lastly although checkout is at noon house keeping knocked on my door at 10 which I didn't answer then 11:30 and said it was checkout time. Seem like it was a ploy to get everyone out. So next time I'll ask for a room away from the golf course and put a do not disturb sign on the door.
