Excellent value!

A two-star rating is undeserved for this place, for the most part. Ideally located between downtown and South Portland, this is certainly a great 'bang for minimum buck.' Only real complaint is the condition of the hot tub, which I only incidentally noticed anyway; and if you're just looking for an affordable, comfortable place to crash, who needs a hot tub? Continental breakfast also includes some hot items.

Not what we expected

Pros: Location
Cons: Smell
Location: Perfect Location
The hotel smelled musty. The chair in the room had stains on it. We were not impressed.

Average Super 8
Posted Jan 18, 2013
Pros: Location was nice.
Cons: Is and always has been just your average no frills hotel, changes are not needed.
Location: Short drive or taxi ride into Portland. Nice to be outside of the city for traveling purposes.
Easy to get to and relatively quiet. Seemed to me that there were quite a few misfits hanging around and I did notice the weekly rates posted on the door which explained why.

Not worth the money.
Posted Jan 1, 2013
Pros: None
Cons: The bed
Location: Location was to far from the main attarctions in Portland.
The reason I chose this hotel for two reason. 1. They listed a heated indoor pool and spa(hot tub) and 2. They stated on their web site “Recently Renovated” (2011). The room was very out dated with a plastered textured wall. The sheets on the bed where dirty, the bed was sunk in the middle and worn out. The one set of towels in the room were stained. When I turned out the light beside the bed I noticed gum under the edge of the night stand. The remote for the TV did not have a back in it and half the channels did not work. The hot tub was very dirty and foamy when I called the front desk to ask if they could do something about they said replied that it was because guest did not shower before getting into too and there was nothing she could do. I would not recommend this hotel.

Very clean!
Posted Jan 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is perhaps one of the cleanest rooms we've stayed in. The room size is a bit small, but ample for a short stay. The pool was heated to a pleasant temperature and very clean with towels provided. The breakfast was the standard waffles, cereal, yogurt, etc. Overall, a good experience at a very reasonable price.

Cheap, but not a great stay!
Posted Jan 4, 2013
The worst part of the stay was the air quality in the room. The smoking rooms are on the bottom floor and definitely seemed to have their air seeping upwards as we were in non-smoking rooms on the second floor. The room had a stale smoke-like environment for the entire visit. The beds were okay, but the room was small. Not much area to move. Few items in the room such as no refrigerator, microwave or even iron. The pool area was perfect for younger children. Cheap price, but not sure I will go there again as for $20 more I could get a much better room and hotel.

Staff Exceeded Expectations.

I don’t begin to know where to start to express our disappointment in this hotel. The second floor smelled of cigarette smoke, the mattress in our room was broken down on one side, which made it impossible for two people to sleep on and reeked of cigarette smoke. These conditions forced us to alternate turns sleeping on the recliner in the room next to a wide -open window on the last week of February so that we could get some rest. On the last night of our stay someone in the hotel was smoking either in the hallways or in a nearby room. We notified the desk attendant who was very pleasant and apologized for the situation. The most disappointing part of this experience was that when we connected to the internet - the name Wyndham properties or some variation of this appeared. I truly believe if this is a Wyndham property and they were aware of these conditions, there would be major changes made to this property. Regardless, the staff on duty were delightful to deal with and ready to help.
