"Outstanding little place to stay!! Ms. Denise is an incredibly warm and friendly manager!! Very sweet lady!! No dishes or cookware, which was my only disappointment. You download an app to pay for laundry. (Currently $3) Still, it was better equipped than most m/hotels I've stayed in. I appreciated the full size stove, full size fridge/freezer, the central air and the furniture. And, oooooooh THE WATER PRESSURE!! Shower is a bit cramped, but that water felt SOOOOOO good!! "Great value in the off season. Pool and hot tub were great. Room was spacious and beach was right there. No restaurants on site, so hav bring your own food ( full kitchen in room) or travel offsite. Wifi was weak, but not bad to disconnect for 2 days. Will book again! "

"The place is what shows on the listing, it’s clean, the bed is super comfortable and also the sofa bed is comfortable, the shower is cool and there’s a lot in the area to do. "Multi family dwelling but for our needs was fantastic. Spotless and excellently appointed. The facility was full and another family group was in the other parts. Although they were up visiting much later than we were there was no noise coming through to keep us up! Small issue came up but the owner was as seeet and quick to rectify as could be expected and went above and beyond. If we were to have the opportunity to return we would 100% contact them to stay there if possible."

"Ocracoke in the early spring is always a treat and this visit did not disappoint. Red Beard's Retreat is a little gem one block off Hwy 12 across from the village Variety store. Our unit was comfortably furnished and check-in was seamless. We had everything we needed and the housekeeper, Maria, lived upstairs and was always available to answer any questions we had. It was obvious that much time and thought went into the furnishing and design of the unit. We plan to visit again next year and...

"We did a weekend getaway so the area was mostly quite. The place was clean but for the freezer that was full of ice cubes everywhere. It is a great apartment, has just about everything you need. Clean linen which is very important to us. I would have liked a more secure parking place but we had no issues."

"This property was very clean. This is very important as I do not like dirty hotels or VRBOs. Easy access, super great location to Biltmore and downtown Asheville. Great little glass blowing shop up the street and walking path near by. Only complaint was you can hear people walking above you but it was very quiet at night, Owner was very nice. Great deal."
