"This is really something to be experienced. It is new (2023) and massive - hundreds and hundreds of guests. It is a spa, first and foremost. The rooms are huge, quiet, and elegant; the numerous staff are efficient and multi-lingual. Hot springs in the building, hundreds of guests strolling about in hotel yukata, views of the peaks and ocean. The optional meals are definitely recommended - the food is fantastic and also it is a long hike to get down the mountain. Partner likened it to a luxury cruise ship on land."

"Everything about this hotel is first class. The Onsen is fantastic and the mountain view is wonderful. You can walk to the train station in less than five minutes. The staff will do everything they can to make your stay memorable. Sauna, two rooftop pools ,a Jacuzzi, flat screen tv, even a small gym, Self service laundry, what else can you ask for? This is my favorite hotel in Japan. "

Memorable stay at Beppu

"Within easy walking-distance from JR Beppu Station or Beppu-bound bus stops. We travelled straight from Fukuoka International Airport to Beppu using a bus that allowed us to alight near Beppu City Hall. From there, it was an easy 5-minute walk. The property is extremely clean, comfortable and welcoming. The staff are friendly and courteous. English is not very well-spoken by the staff but Google Translate and body language is enough to get by. Wonderful hot springs public bath. Private bath is available with a cost. We had Japanese style breakfast which was yum and worth the money. I will definitely consider staying at Hana Beppu again."

"This hotel is right in front of the JR line, making it super convenient. There is also a bus stop right by the hotel, so you could still get anywhere you need to. This hotel has free breakfast and free drinks in the middle of the day, which includes alcohol. It also has a free hot spring bath on level 3 (not tattoo friendly) which is awesome. Even though the room is a little small, I liked the hotel very much and enjoyed all the amenities provided as well. If I had to return back to Beppu, I will definitely stay here again. "

"The hotel is large, but well-maintained. The staff is very helpful and responsive. The only down side was waiting for the elevator at peak use times, because there were so many guests late March... The location is perfect, walking distance from the train station, and near downtown restaurants"
