Riverfront cabin, on a secluded section of the Middle Branch, Pere Marquette

Welcome to the Swinging Fly cabin! It’s a true cabin in the woods located on the Middle Branch of the Pere Marquette River in Baldwin Michigan (trout season applies on this section of river). It’s been recently remodeled from top to bottom - it’s a gem to be enjoyed year round. The Swinging Fly is located on 8.2 acres of property which includes 1,320 feet of private river frontage. You can fish right out the back of the cabin, or a short five minute drive down the road and you're floating on the headwaters of the Pere Marquette’s famous flies-only waters (year round fishing). There is also canoeing and hiking trails available. Try a section of North Country National Scenic Trail, it's the longest in the National Trails System, stretching 4,800 miles across eight states from North Dakota to Vermont and it passes right though the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Lake County also boasts 393 lakes, and 42 trout streams to explore within its boundaries.

Do you dream about the perfect place on a river? Charlie's place was the better than we imagined. A perfectly rustic fisherman's cabin in the gorgeous PM. The cabin has everything you need to enjoy coffee and breakfast over looking the river or sitting around a campfire telling stories or making a feat for family and friends. The cabin has it all for a perfect getaway. We will be staying again.

Perfect secluded cabin
This log cabin in the woods has all the comforts of home, especially a fireplace that makes it so cozy you’ll never want to leave. It is so secluded from the moment you drive onto the property and the river running past the front of the cabin is just gorgeous. The owner is very responsive and gives you all the tips and info you need to make it an enjoyable and relaxing stay. It couldn’t have been a better winter getaway for us.

Perfect cabin
We just finished our weekend stay and had a great experience! Three of us came to Baldwin for a weekend of Steelhead Fishing (definitely not Steelhead Catching, tough weekend) and had a wonderful stay. The Cabin is situated perfectly to launch into the Flies Only section. The hosts were easy to communicate with and quite accommodating. We fished hard, relaxed harder, ate well in town (highly recommend 876) and had a great time. We'll be back- and hope the fish will be as well!

Quiet and secluded
My friends and I had a wonderful weekend! Cabin is as advertised! Secluded enough for privacy but just a quick few minutes to town for extra supplies. Cabin is clean and nicely stocked for your stay. Play some horse shoes and enjoy the company or take a few steps down to the pristine river and throw some flies. Only "negative" comments from any of us (7 in total) were be careful not to catch your hand in the small bathroom ( the door handle and counter are really close!). And the condensation pan for the A/C unit in the 3rd room could be better. Had to keep an eye on it so it didn't over flow and ruin the floor. If that's the only issues, we would still book again in a heartbeat! You will love your stay and the hosts are very quick to respond to any questions! Great place! Thanks Charles!

The cabin was delightful. It was very clean with lots of amenities. The beds were comfortable. The view from the cabin to the river was beautiful. It’s a very quiet and private setting but close to stores, etc. We really enjoyed our time here and felt very safe staying at the cabin. The owner was also very nice and easy to communicate with. We’d love to return someday!

Beautiful Cabin on the river in the woods!
I wanted to find somewhere for my family for a quick getaway. I came across this listing and was very intrigued with the location and access points. Before we arrived, the owners were amazing with the communication. They told us all about the good fishing spots because I had told them my boys were excited to fish. When we got there the cabin was exactly like what was listed. They even put a swing up before we got there for my little one! The property was beautiful, it had a little bit of something for everyone. We enjoyed a nice night by the bonfire and my kid's played basketball. Overall, we had an amazing experience. We are already excited to book again next year.

Beautiful Cabin
This place is incredible! You can tell they put their hearts into it. Our family loved the relaxing bonfires, dinners outside, the river and birds. You can tell the owners love this place and for them to open their doors and share this beautiful piece of heaven, we are grateful! We felt welcomed safe and you can tell the owners do care about their guests. The energy of the home is calm and peaceful. The ONLY only thingnto warn is the trail behind the basketball hoos, MIND the orange poles that show the property line. We overlooked them because the trail was inviting with the bridges and benches but they are NOT public. We overlooked the poles and kept walking to see where it led and ran into a woman and her dog and scared them, she wasn't happy at first and we apologized. She wasn't rude, we just startled her. So please honor his markers on that trail. We have absolutely no complaints about this place. We already want to rent this place again. Thank you guys for sharing this amazing property with our family. We got the relaxation we needed.

Perfect Getaway Spot
The cabin is exactly as shown in the pictures. Beautiful River front, peaceful property. What was supposed to be a weekend away for my husband and I turned into a solo-vaca for myself due to work reasons for my husband. I loved the bench overlooking the river, the trails and the wildlife around. Will definitely keep this place in mind for a future family trip! Something there for everyone to enjoy :)
