Cool hotel in a cool town

Posted Aug 27, 2017
I've stayed at the Roundhouse twice now. It's aesthetically pleasing; comfortable; clean; friendly; great location within the town and a nice spot sitting right by the waterfall on the river.

Comfort beyond compare

Roundhouse hotel was fabulous. Between the view of the waterfalls, lit at night, the great food at the restaurant and the wonderfully comfortable bed and pillows, our only regret was planning to stay just one night. We hope to return.

A hidden gem

Posted Jul 22, 2017 on Hotels
Perhaps the best value for money hotel we've ever stayed at. The newly renovated rooms are spacious, clean and we'll thought out. The hotel grounds are stunning and nearby to all amenities. This is our second stay at the roundhouse and it will not be our last. Cannot recommend this establishment more!

Overnight getaway

Posted Jul 22, 2017 on Hotels
My husband and I wanted an overnight getaway and Beacon is less than an hour from where we live. All in all it was a great place to stay my only complaint is that I didn't realize we would be in a different building from where the restaurant bar and Lobby was. I would have liked to have known that. The other negative was that the inside bar wasn't opened and it was over 90 degrees and humid so having a drink outside and enjoying the beauty of The View was not too Pleasant for us but had the weather been better we would have been perfectly happy. The breakfast buffet was excellent however and was part of the room rental. I would recommend The Roundhouse for one night or more. Beacon is a fun city with lots of restaurants and galleries.

Wonderful stay!

Posted Jun 28, 2017 on Hotels
The Rounghouse staff was courteous and helpful, the rooms themselves were beautiful, and the grounds were pleasant to walk through. Also, the associated restaurant served delicious food, with the complimentary breakfast being just we needed in the mornings! It's a great, short drive to Storm King or Dia, and the hotel sits right at the start of Main St. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Beacon!

My room had no bathtub which is unfortunate for a hotel of this caliber.

I am sorry that you were disappointed. We do have 2 penthouses and 1 suite that have bathtubs. All the rest of the rooms have tiled showers. Please let us know next time that you are able to visit so we can check on the availability of a room with a tub.

The hotel grounds are well kept and they have a nice restaurant with free breakfast and a patio bar overlooking rushing water. The location, at basically one end of Main Street, is convenient for exploring. The staff was friendly. The bed is comfy. The hotel in general though seems to care more about being cool than practical. For instance they have a sliding door on their bathrooms that not only does not lock closed but tends to slide open if you're not careful, and that you can also push up and open. It looks nice but is not terribly functional. Housekeeping also made toilet paper flowers out of the last 2 feet of toilet paper in the roll, which basically just looked like a messy mountain of wadded up and used toilet paper on top of the roll. Also personally in my double queen room the toilet seat was not connected to half the toilet. The walls did not seem very thick either. You could hear every sneeze in the hallway amplified in your room.

Things I am not going to tell you about this hotel

Posted May 10, 2017 on Hotels
I don't want to tell you about this cool small hotel, next to a waterfall, near a nicely redone Main Street, with its old factory/modern appointments vibe and great restaurant. I don't want to give this place a terrific review because then you will go there and rooms won't be available when I want to go. So I won't tell you how unique it is and how service-oriented the staff was, even for a late-night arriver like me.
