"The place was interesting and we enjoyed our stay however it was a bit inconvenient for people our age (late seventies). The room was upstairs and the stairs were many and steep. The staff was very helpful though and they carried our bags up on arrival and down on departure day. The detour to get to the lodge was very long along dirt road. The food was very good and plentiful. In the end we had a good stay but probably will not return."

The area around where the rooms are was a little worse for wear. But the room was clean enough, and I really, truly loved the sheets that were on the bed."

The place is quiet, it s very easy to access to the park and the landlord is very nice and helpful with guests. And the restaurant is excellent after a long day hike ! "This turned out to be very nice. We didn’t not realize the bathroom was a pit toilet and there is no electric on the property. All this being said we really did like it. We slept well, the outdoor shower was awesome. Spent a lot less time on getting ready. A plus when you are going hiking anyway. The pit toilet is a pit toilet. All in all we enjoyed our stay."

"My companion and I really enjoyed the location. It did take a few minutes to find our room, but once in we were able to relax. A few items to mention: the door lock to Ponderosa does not seem to lock securely. And, I did encounter some cockroaches, which we were able to dispatch without much problem - I think these are unavoidable. But overall, we would very much like to stay at this property again!"

"Had a Great stay at their Sequoia Jewel spot. Bed/pillows are comfortable. Stars looked amazing from camp site. The grill worked perfectly. Toilet is a vaulted toilet but pretty clean and didn’t smell bad like most vaulted toilets. We used the outdoor shower which has plenty of hot water on demand and is still a private single shower stall with a locking door."
