Cozy and comfortable place with all the amenities. We lounged by the fire while drinking coffee in the morning. In the afternoons we drove to nearby hiking trails and in the evenings we enjoyed the spectacular view of the river from the back porch. The only slightly down side to this place is the road noise just beyond the river on the opposite bank, otherwise it’s pretty dreamy.

This secluded cabin was perfect for what we were looking for. It felt like we were living at home. We will definitely ba back for future stays. We were hoping for snow but on the 3rd day as we were to leave there was a small amount of snow on the ground.

Wonderful weekend getaway
Very nice little place on the river. We had a very pleasant time on a couples weekend getaway. Not that TV is our thing however, we did plan on having playoff games to watch and a movie night. Unfortunately it was not advertised as not having a tv. Fortunately, we also had planned on playing games and got excellent use of our additional free time. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

Perfectly Situated Lovely Little Getaway
The location and ambieance of this property was ideal for the way we wanted to spend our time. It is a proper little home with all the amenities and fully stocked. It was peaceful and meditative stepping onto the back porch to sit with a cup of tea and have the river inches away. It is true that the highway on the other side of the river is active but we were out hiking during the day and the traffic was nearly non-existent after 5pm. The wifi was really unreliable and there is no television so be prepared for quiet time, conversation, or indulging in a good book.

Beautiful property right on the river
This home is literally two steps from the Mackenzie River in a really beautiful setting. There are lots of birds, including hummingbirds which visit the feeder all day long and are a lot of fun to watch. The noise from the road on the other side of the river is there, but only from time to time, and it didn't interfere with our enjoyment of the property at all. The back porch is wonderful. There are grocery stores and a couple of restaurants very near the property. The kitchen is well-equipped and we did a lot of cooking. Literally our only complaint is that while the ventilation setting has an AC mode, this blows hot air instead of cooling the cabin; we had several hot days and the lack of AC was an annoyance. But overall we recommend the property highly, and would definitely visit again.

Home on the river!
We really enjoyed the quaintness of this home literally right on the river. What a nice relaxing stay. 2 master suites and 1 extra 1/2 bath make this a really great place for 2 couples and maybe a couple of small children.

Absolutely stunning
I searched for over a month for the perfect, quiet, romantic getaway and landed on this house. It was absolutely perfect. The only unwelcome noise was from the highway across the river but it was drown out by the constant flow of the river and very light traffic in the morning and evening hours. The house was perfect for cooking and relaxing. The fireplace was gorgeous and great for evening relaxing. No cell reception (at&t) and no TV which was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle. Internet connection was good so we could play music while we cooked or open the back door and listen to the river. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to relax with gorgeous views!

Nice place, the river is very calming. Everything was perfect except the squirrels that decided to torpedo pine cones on the carport roof every morning at 6am. Would definitely stay here again.

Grandaughter's 2nd birthday.
We live in Nashville, TN and our kids and granddaughter live in Oakridge, OR. This visit was to celebrate our granddaughter's 2nd birthday. We loved the cabin. It was everything we hoped it would be except that it really didn't have a "fully-supplied" kitchen. There was virtually nothing for baking which is something we had wanted to do.

I love this house!
I have stayed here multiple times and absolutely love staying here. The view of the river is gorgeous. You have a beautiful creek that runs in front, with the larger river flowing behind that. Large living room with lots of seating, though the porch is the best view in the house. There is reliable, steady Wifi. It is good enough for video conference calls, though there is a slight lag on video calls. The Wifi happened to go out unexpectedly on one day during my most recent stay, but that has never happened before. No TV at this property. Can't recommend enough, and can't wait to be back soon!

Cabin right on the river!
Cozy cabin on the river Comfortable beds, lovely deck to sit out in the evening and listen to the river Traffic noise noticeable during the day but not a problem for us, as we were out enjoying the area Very central for all exploring, lots of waterfalls, volcanic landscapes and old Douglas Fir forests to hike Bring your own food as groceries are limited and there are few places to eat out Adequate kitchen No TV but good internet, perfect setting to relax and unwind after a day of exploring

Almost great
Spent three nights at this property right on the McKenzie River. View is lovely except you're looking at and hearing the traffic from 126. Very loud. The property manager Megan is wonderful. The wifi bill hadn't been paid so we spent a lot of time with Hughes trying to get it back up. Place is over-decorated but warm and comfy. Love the area but will look for a quieter house next time.

So close to perfection... with two major issues.
There was SO MUCH to like about this property! But unfortunately--for us--the negatives definitely affected our special weekend away. PROS: Beautiful cabin with modern and quaint decor, a beautiful patio, cosy and comfy furniture, a wood fireplace, modern washer & dryer, a well-stocked coffee machine, and a very thoughtful host who left us a bottle of wine and a card for when we arrived! CONS: (and they're relatively significant!) So we feel pretty misled when it came to the listing on VRBO. Just copying words from the description, the title says: "Quiet & Romantic Cabin Getaway on McKenzie River!" with descriptors like "falling asleep to the soothing sounds of rushing water" and "The romantic atmosphere you are seeking is created by the secluded natural setting of the cabin" and "No matter what room you decide to sleep in, you'll be surrounded by the soothing silence of your secluded getaway." This gives off the impression that the cabin will be very quiet and relaxing. What ANY of the description fails to mention is the TWO LANE HIGHWAY that's right on the other side of the river! All day long the "serene silence" was interrupted by logging trucks going up the incline, loud motorcycle groups, RVs and and off-road Jeeps roaring by. Even early on a Sunday morning when we sat outside, the constant sounds of traffic prevented us from ever truly unwinding. I, personally, felt like I paid a premium only to be reminded of the city traffic we were so desperately trying to escape. Nowhere in the description does it indicate the presence of a loud main highway near the cabin--and justly so as it would have definitely affected our decision to stay there! Another big downside is that none of the windows have curtains. So the big windows overlooking the river, the bedroom, and even the bathrooms don't have any privacy curtains whatsoever. So if you, a romantically inclined couple, want to enjoy your solitude together, best stay away from one of the bedrooms where you can see rafters going down the river from the vantage point of your bed or wait till night. Finally, if you intend to do a good bit of cooking, you may want to bring things like measuring cups/spoons, baking sheets, and a knife set (all their knives there are oddly serrated) and there's no A/C, but those are small complaints. Curtains and Kitchen can be fixed. But the highway is a big deal breaker for us. :(

Wish I could give more STARS!
This place was wonderful. It was exactly what my daughter and I needed. I lost my Dad the week before our scheduled trip and I thought about canceling because I was not in the mood to celebrate Thanksgiving. I am so glad that I didn’t. I have never been to a home that provided so much relaxation. We sat by the water and just listened to nature. We lit a fire and watched it burn. We drove to a beach, to a forest, and to a few cities; and we were never far from “home.” I will be coming back again.

Sweet comfortable cabin
This was a nice, clean cabin with comfortable beds, well appointed bathrooms, and almost everything we needed for cooking meals there. No cell service there; Wi-fi slow but adequate, no TV. I would have given it a higher rating except that, although there was AC, we could not get it to work. We were there during a hot spell. An email to the property manager went unanswered. So, while we liked the cabin in general, we were disappointed in some ways.

Great relaxing place
Interior is as shown in pics, well appointed, comfortable and a great setting. Could use some bedroom window shades to block out light. The only negative it is visually close to the main road (Rte 126) which you can see and hear traffic across the river despite the sounds of rushing water.

Beautiful home and environment, perfect place to get much needed R&R
The home is sparkling clean, wondering furnished and decorated and spacious. The river is all the music you need and it’s so peaceful to be amongst the old growth trees. If you’re looking for a place to recharge your batteries or fall deeper in love with your significant other, this is a great home to rent. There is a great trail on the other side of the river, definitely worth checking out. The dining room table offers an amazing view while eating, the fire place provides warmth and coziness. Was great in the winter and we’re hoping to stay during the warmer months.
