A great hotel for a Bordeaux weekend

Pros: Friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff
Cons: Some new carpets required in public circulation areas.
Location: Quiet peaceful location but handy for Bordeaux centre. Walking tour of Bordeaux and night time open top bus tour, both booked online, and excellent.
Very pleased with the Pullman Bordeaux Lac. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception on arrival. Free up grade to superior room. Quick and efficient check in. Room was very good, overlooking the lake-it is a very quiet location. Very clean room. Hotel itself in a few places looks a bit jaded-the odd stain on the carpets here and there for instance, but there is a renovation programme underway. All the facilities were spotless. Superb buffet breakfast with everything you could imagine. Everybody we met said good morning (in French of course) and smiled as though they were really pleased we were at their hotel. There is a public tram stop directly opposite the hotel which runs straight to the heart of Bordeaux (stop QUINCONCES for main square). Trams run every 10-15 minutes by day. We used it a lot. A single journey costs 1.50 euro, tickets bought at the tram stop from a machine-coins or bank card and option for English language on screen. After 7pm the fare is 2 euro for unlimited journeys until close of the line.

Lovely stay outside the city.

Pros: The overall relaxed feeling....a welcome site after a busy sight seeing day in the city!
Location: As the area has many hotels there are good restaurants especially Del Arte...which is busy in the evening, you may have to queue.
A very impressive initial experience on entering reception area, which is light & airy. The staff in all areas are very helpful & pleasant. Lovely room, clean & spacious. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the city, with the tram (10 mins to the city) just across the road with the beautiful Le Lac in the background. The pool area is a welcome quiet space with loungers & umbrellas. There are lovely restaurants in the vicinity with bicycle hire if you don't wish to walk or travel into the city.

very chic hotel, calm, with excellent restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, fitness room and many other features. While next to the Bordeaux Congress Centre, there is nothing much around unless you have rented a car.

Pros: Newly renovated, and location.
Cons: More personal service. Bathroom tile floors need more care.
Location: Ideal for access to the highway toward Libourne.Traffic the opposite direction, Medoc, is VERY heavy. Halfway between wine areas by driving time.
The Pullman LAC was comfortable but a bit impersonal. The immediate area has improved tremendously over the years. Convenience of bike rental and tram so close to the hotel adds to the pleasure of staying here.

Basic Level of Accommodation

More 3* than 4*. Had a "superior room" and found that a bit basic. Paper cups for coffee machine. Only 4 coffee pods (2 regular & 2 decaff)and 2 tiny milks. Free water is a nice touch. Basic free toiletries. Hard bed and too soft pillows. Very hot rooms. Aircon won't go down far enough. Issues with the free wifi. Needs an overall refurb.
