Disappointing, noisy & moldy!
While this place is close to the subway and communication with the host was smooth, we were very disappointed overall. This listing is inaccurate as there was not a hot tub as stated, also not sure how it can be newly renovated when we were hit with a strong mold smell the minute we walked in, which they must be aware of as a bottle of air freshener was sitting in the living room. The kitchen sink had a profound sewage smell and there was a large amount of mold in the washing machine. On top of that, the bedroom lamps were all broken and being held together with packaging tape. The twin bed broke when I sat on it which the host did promptly fix, but it would have been nice if they would have communicated when they were coming to the unit instead of us having to look to see if the bed was fixed. The bathroom also had ants and a bunch of peeling paint. If this isn’t enough to deter you, then the loud family who lives upstairs should be. The yelling and barking dogs started at 0630 each day and was pretty constant until about 10pm. It sounded like they were constantly moving furniture around and rollerblading up there. Needless to say we would not stay here again and do not recommend it. The property has potential if there was more consistent maintenance and deep cleaning as it’s functional and cute. However definitely not worth the price we paid as is. Save yourself the money and frustration and find yourself somewhere else to stay!

False advertising at its finest!
Filled with ants and centipedes throughout the apartment. Jay (manager) said he’d have someone spray, they didn’t. He said he’d bring us hand soap (because ad said there was soap), he didn’t. Ants in the shower, kitchen, on the beds. Centipedes in the kitchen and bathroom. The pull-put couch was stained and grimy. The mattress was as old as the building. The gym was completely trashed with empty boxes and trash everywhere. Someone’s desk with files and paperwork all over it. Pots and pans and toaster rusted and blackened. The people who live upstairs start shouting and screaming at 6am, stomp and drag furniture all day until 10 pm. I was embarrassed I booked this for my family. Completely grossed out and disappointed that I couldn’t find a different place for my little kiddos to sleep on such short notice. Manager was irritated that I was complaining but didn’t help with anything. Praying for a partial refund. This place was a huge mistake.

Great stay on Sigourney
We were in town for Thanksgiving to visit family that lives in the neighborhood. The place was very comfortable, with a pull out couch making it perfect for two adults and two kids. The location right next to Franklin park was very nice. Some of us ran in the Turkey Trot and it was a short walk over. The place is also a nice walk to the town center. There are plenty of playgrounds nearby. T stops are a short walk if you need public transportation. We could hear kids running around upstairs but it wasn’t too bad. Overall, would stay again.

Great neighborhood
This VRBO is in a great location. A short walk to the orange line, with several bodegas on the way home, we really enjoyed. However, the family above us was VERY noisy early in the morning. From yelling at each other to chairs scraping, stomping, and dogs barking. This was only bothersome from about 6:30 am to 8 am when everyone left. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Great location in a beautiful city
We were there for the Boston Half Marathon and we were just steps from the start/finish at Franklin Park. Short walk to the T and just minutes to downtown on the T. Nice local markets and restaurants. The place was clean and in a good neighborhood!

Great Stay
My husband and I stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time! The apartment is very clean, modern, and cozy. We loved the neighborhood, Franklin Park, and how easy it is to get to the train. The hosts were very responsive and easy to deal with. The family upstairs was very welcoming - yes there is some noise as others have mentioned - but it was just the pitter patter of little feet. Nothing to get upset about. It should be noted that the gym that is shown on the listing is no longer available. Had a great time.

Things you need to know
We were not aware we would be staying in the basement. The family above us was very noisy. The "apartment" is clean but the floors are bowed. Also, you need to be aware if you have any mobility issues you have to go down the stairs to access this apartment. Luckily we don't have these issues but there is nothing in the description of the property that states this. There was also a big spider web up high in a corner. The spiders or other insects could easily come in around the window a/c unit that was not sealed. I will say the manager was quick to respond and issued us a credit. We did not spend one night there it was that noisy when we arrived. We had to make arrangements at the last minute to book a hotel downtown which was unfortunate since we were there to visit and help with the care of our new grandson.

Fine for a place to sleep
The property is in an old house which is now multi occupancy. The area may have been affluent once but its particularly run down now. Actual cleanliness of the property was poor and far below standards we have experienced with other Vrbo bookings. On the plus side there is a great cafe close by for breakfast and the public transport into central Boston is good. Parking is on the street but easy. The soft furnishings and furniture is tired and needs some investment. Clearly the apartment was originally a very high standard but it is in need of some investment and a deep clean - broken draws, poor sofas etc. If the owner doesn't love it why will their guests. The price is ridiculous for this standard, I won't be staying again.

A Lovely JP Home-base
My husband and I were in town to help my parents see my sister off to college in Boston. The location was nice and quiet and was a great basecamp for us when we weren't spending time with our families/re-tracing our old haunts and jaunts as we used to live in the city. The space was tidy and very cozy and they even had some toys for kids!

Worked well for us
We spent a week in Boston. I had business at Harvard med and my husband and our dog joined me. The apartment worked well for the 3 of us. It was an easy transit commute to the Longwood area for me. Lots of cafes to walk to for my husband. And great parks for our dog. The home owners are great. The apartment is nicely renovated. The furnishings are nice albeit a bit sparse. Overall it worked out perfectly for us.
